I have the same problem. Printer prints 3 or 4 pages. Then stops printing. Error message shows : paper jam close lid. But there is no paper jamed in the printer. After open and closing the lid, the printer continues to print. Sometimes 5 sometimes 10 pages, until same problem is present.

SOURCE: paper does not feed into lexmark X5470 all in one printer

Rollers could be worn out. Also could be a problem with the paper sensor. Not sure what type of sensor this printer uses. Some just use a pressure switch, others use a light sensor.

feeding problems
not take apaper
not feed a paper

hey im tuval from israel,
first of all im sorry about my english :)
and now to the point.......
look, if you know where the feeding wheel its good (like elastic material over this wheel) , now take a"nail cleaner" (aceton)
and clean this wheel (the elastic thing), i did thet and the problem is gone!!!
after the cleanning send 15-20 empty doc to print (remember - empty, dont use you ink - you dont have to - save money), if all the paper is out from the printer,
you fix that.

Fix repeated paper jams on Lexmark 901 Pro

If you are getting a jam and there is no paper visible then a likely cause is a false jam that is caused when the paper is not picked up from the tray at the start of printing. Send a print job and listen closely. If you can hear the pickup rollers turning but no paper is being pulled into the printer then either the rollers are dirty or are worn and need to be replaced. Trying printing from a different tray or the manual feed tray to eliminate a fault with a different component on the printer.

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

Rage more pages and then give errors in and print paper that is scanned at half page down

Can you provide us information on the error message you are getting. Are you using the ADF or the glass scanner? It is possible that the page orientation setting may be incorrect or paper size and the paper size settings do not match. Please make sure that the paper size in the printer driver settings matches the paper in the tray.

My Lexmark X4690 printer keeps telling me there is a paper jam when there is no paper jam. It won't print. How do I solve this?

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

X215 continously displays paperjam 1, there is no paper jam,

I didn't have this exact problem, mine was a paper jam 0 error. The problem was caused by a spring that got old ended using one out of a retractable ink pen. Once you take the four screws out that hold the back plate on and remove it. When facing the front of the printer the left side where the handle is will push back and top can be pulled down to remove. Be careful this is where the speaker is located. The speaker is connected by a six inch wire that can be easily unplugged. Facing the side of printer that was just removed is a plate with 5 or 6 numbered screws only remove the ones that are numbered. This is the drive system for the paper tray and out feed. My problem was the cam gear located to the right of the plate that was just removed. It is like two gears made as one with a spring in the middle and two coils used as a brake for the in feed. I did notice on the left side of the drive system was a light that is used for paper detection pointing towards a photo eye. Most likely that light has burned out for you.
