You can download user manuals from the Bissell website. However, if you look through the problems posted on this Fixya site under vacuums, you will see more relating to Bissell than just about any other make (with the possible exception of Dyson). You may then begin to wonder if your friend has really done you a favour...
Okay all you have to do is go to Bissell.com and look up upright deep cleaners and find the picture of the clear view and it will have a user's manual you can pull up PDF form and it will tell you everything you need to know about starting to use your machine. I hope this is helpful...Thanks
Is the unit spraying ok? If not then the heater may be plugged. Other than that, you should fill the tank with hot tap water, the the heater will only heat it alittle more, you won't really see steam.
