I have been tring to connect to wireless internet all day with my ps3 and it ethier says my WPA key may be incorrect or errorhas occurred (8013013D)

that is not a problem and i will be glad to assist you. If this doesnt work please follow up with a comment and i can give you instructions on what to do next.
This error code is caused by a connection time out when attempting to connect to the Domain Name Server (DNS). If you are seeing this code you should check the following: • Do you have a working internet connection (can you connect successfully using a PC)? • Reconfigure your network settings (delete existing settings and create new ones) • Does your Internet Service Provider (ISP) prohibit access to secure pages as a default setting? (this may lead to failures when accessing system software updates) • Within network settings, is the Primary DNS being detected? If the ‘Primary DNS’ is displayed as 0.0.0.0 or is blank, the DNS is not being detected automatically. If this is the case you should contact your ISP and ask for the ISP’s DNS address. This DNS address should then be manually input into your network settings. Following all of these steps your PS3 should now be able to get online.
to find your dns in windows > Start
> Run
> command
> ipconfig /all
Then the DNS Server(s) being at the bottom

If it still doesnt work let me know your router model number. Also ensure your WPA key is correct and that its not wpa2 as depending on the model most playstation 3's cant use wpa2. that way if you provide me with your router i can ensure that everything will work with each other and determine the best security settings to get your computer online
If you need further assistance or help with anything please let me know and i will be glad to guide you through any assistance you may need.

I can pretty much guarantee that this is an issue with your DNS servers.

Open System Preferences > Netowork > Show > Airport > TCP/IP.

Use the Open DNS Project's servers instead of your ISPs:

208.67.222.22 and 208.67.220.220

Good luck!

My son has a DNS error on his PS3 and cant get onto the internet....can you help a technophobe

this has helped me in the past.. i hope it helps you out

Been troubled lately by that pesky DNS error? Notice that your PS3 can still browse the net, but not log in? Happen to be a Roadrunner customer? Happen to have any other ISP with a crummy DNS server? Well then read on...

The main issue turns out to be a Roadrunner (or any other ISP's) DNS problem. The fix is simple. When configuring your PS3 network (regardless of wired or wireless), use the manual option. If you use DHCP, leave address resolution at automatic BUT CHANGE THE DNS SERVER ENTRY TO MANUAL.

I replaced the Roadrunner (or any other ISP's) DNS entries with addresses from the Open DNS project which is a free, secure DNS server that anyone can use. It's safe, easy, and works.

The DNS addresses are:

208.67.222.222 or/and 208.67.220.220

Once replaced, you should have no problem logging in.

here is the url i got it from http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network/Solution-for-your-DNS-error-80710102-problems-Works-for-all-ISP/m-p/42264211/message-uid/42264211

How do i get my dns numbers from my isp provider, and what is a isp provider.

Best bet is to open up your browser and type in www.whatismyip.com
this will give you your ip address from your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)
If You need some DNS numbers (Domain Name Server), I use open DNS. they are pretty good at keeping out dodgy or rogue sites. Web sites have actual numbers for their address, not names. When you type in www.anynamehere.com, the computer goes to the DNS server to look up the name and get the number (IP address) just like looking up a phone book.
If you choose to use Open DNS as the look up server. use these numbers in your settings.
DNS1 208.67.222.222
DNS2 208.67.220.220
If you need to put in a gateway (like a front door to go out to the net) you will need to go into your router or modem settings to find this number, Or just call your ISP to get the information. You will need your email username & password before you ring
Good Luck

New iMac very very slow loading pages with Actiontec GT704-WG

I have seen this before and this has cured it:
Check the DNS settings in the Network panel and enter a manual DNS that matches the base address of the router (192.168.0.1 for this router).
System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > Advanced > DNS. Click the + sign and add 192.168.0.1. Click OK, and click Apply on the next screen.

Linksy router

a DNS server stands for domain name service. The DNS server translatesnames from IP addresses. The internet sees IP addresses such as 209.235.250.53 but the DNS server provided by your ISP translates it for you into fixya.com. You should be able to aquire the DNS server information from your internet provider (ISP) hope this helps.

How to fix the dns error

You will have to go to the network settings and manualy change the DNS address to your ISP DNS address. If you dont know your ISP DNS address then I would recommend you to call them or use 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3 which are Verzions DNS address. Using your ISP DNS may be faster.

Well firstly my ps3 console keeps telling me i have a dns error and i tried your soluotions but i cant find where is allow other connectins to connet option

16x16_smiley-wink.gif Not aware of any DNS servers that are hosted by Sony However,DNS servers are hosted by your ISP, if you are getting a DNS error, Iwould be willing to bet that you are also unable to surf the interneton another PC. Best thing to do in this case is reboot your modem (Cable or DSL), your router, and your PS3, in that order. That way everything has time to sync up, grab a IP address, DNS, etc. shut the power off on your modem for about 30sec and turn it back on let i tboot up and try again

Internet connection failed but IP address obtained.

Hello,

Check to make sure that your router has gotten an IP Address from your ISP. Because you PS3 is telling you that it has an IP from your router. This means that the Router to PS3 connection has layer 3 connectivity, but what about from your router to your ISP? check that in the router by logging into the router's web page and going to the status page it should have your information from your ISP if it does not make sure that the main page is set to the proper settings either get IP automatically (Cable Modem) or Get PPPOE (DSL) connection (Make sure that your password information is correct to).

Now after checking these items make sure that you set the router up as the DNS for your network buy setting this on the status page then in your PS3 (set the DNS setting to point to your router, and set your router up as a caching DNS server).
Then power cycle the router after saving everything, and power cycle your PS3 after setting everything. This should clear up your problem.

Thank you,
