Question about Canon PowerShot A95 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My Cannon Powershot A95 failed while I was overseas. The image in the viewfinder looked ok but the resulting photos tend heavily toward blues and magentas but worst of all they are vertically 'smeared'. The effect is similar to what you would get if you wet a fresh watercolour picture and held it up. Everything kind of runs down the page. This is a great loss to me as I use it for photographing models owing to the tilting viewfinder feature. The modern cameras are very hard to use close to the ground and are useless for this purpose. Can the A95 be fixed?

Yes, it can be fixed by local camera repair shop, just ask them to replace its ccd imager chip to get back camera in business.
It is ccd imager chip failure in A95 camera and it is common problem with this model. CCD Imager chip replacement requires expertise and soldering work and professional can do it in better way.
Thanks.

Click the "disp" button. The display of the camera has been turned off in the LCD screen but you can still use the viewfinder, this functionality is just for those who prefer to use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen.

If you can see the menu icons on the LCD, and can view earlier photos from your memory card, you probably have an image sensor (CCD) failure. See this link for details. If Canon determines that this is the problem, they will repair your camera at no cost, regardless of warranty status.
