This works!  Saves a bunch of bucks . . . only problem is that the blue button will not be able to be replaced, but it works just fine!  Thanks!

I had exactly the same problem, and some googling shows this is a very very common problem with Braun shavers. My previous Braun did it after a few years and I though it was just mine that was bad. This new one is less than a year old but too much hassle shipping it in under warranty assuming I can find the receipt somewhere. Removing the metallic thingy under the blue button looks bad but works perfectly. Thanks very much! But I'll never buy another Braun again. Seems they are designed and/or manufactured to fail so that it forces one to buy another..

You only need an small screwdriver, pull out the blue button and the metallic part, Ready!. Only one thing, you have to forgett about the aesthetics of the shaver, but it's work perfectly, Thanks a lot!

Removing the blue button didn't work for me. After disassembling, I found that a small internal slider with two electrical contacts on it was broke. When the shaver is turned on with the main On/Off slider, a spring moves a small slider inside to make contact with two areas on the circuit board. The small internal slider was broke in half, so when the main On/Off slider was moved to the off position, only half of the internal slider was moving. The other half with the electrical contacts was staying in place on the circuit board, allowing the shaver to still operate. I have tried gluing the small slider back together but one of the pieces is very tiny. I'm contemplating soldering two wires to the contact areas on the circuit board and mounting a small toggle switch somewhere. I've had about four Braun shavers and this has worked the best and lasted years longer than the others. I'd like to keep it going.

Pry out the blue button. In the oval hole where the button was you will see a thin metallic part (semi-circular shapes on each side); pull it out through the hole and the switch will be functional.

Did exactly as you said. Pried out the blue button and removed the metallic part. Didn't work. I made a video that shows my solution...

Batteries run down faster (Braun 7505)

You will find batteries at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

To open the shaver body, you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out. Reassemble in reverse order

Braun 7505 switch won't slide down to off position. battery has to run down to stop. What can I do?

Guest solution (2008) to Pry out the blue button worked great for me. Not sure what the semi-circular shapes under the button were for but the switch works fine now. The only down side was that prying the button off broke the tab holding it, but this is no big deal. Saved me the cost of a new razor and I like the Braun 7505 model because it works great and is smaller than some of the newer models.

Braun shaver 7505 trimming blade slide will only move between position 3 (trimming) part way to 2. It will not go to 2 or 1(off). This happened suddenly. Shaver operates with cord, but must be unplugged to...

The trimmer and on/off switch are part of the same mechanism. The problem is that the switch apparatus is broken and preventing the trimmer from sliding up. You can't repair it without replacing it.
This is a hard part to find for your model and I don't know where to direct you to purchase one.
I have another suggestion which will be a good remedy especially if your shaver has original batteries and is over 3 or 4 years old. This suggestion is to replace the whole 'lower unit'. This would be the entire handle portion of the shaver. You can upgrade to a nicer model at the same time. Take a look at this compatible lower unit at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

Shaver not charging.

The batteries should not really get warm. You may not have a good solder connection
Assuming that the batteries are in correctly with good solder joints, the problem is likely the motor. With the shaver fully assembled, remove just the foil and cutter and then turn the unit on. Use your finger to push the piece of plastic that the cutter fits into back and forth. If it starts and moves slowly or if it stutters, the brushes in the moto are probably bad. Because the motor is a sealer unit, the motor will need replaced. If you require this part, you will find it at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.
