Question about Farmall IH Tractor 706, 756, 806, 856, 1206, ITIH32

1 Answer

I have a backhoe on an 856 IH. The controls all work but they seem to stall out when greater pressure is needed to dig . I put a pressure guage on a tractor hydraulic outlet. I had a reading of 1800 lbs. but it seemed slow/sluggish.

Farmall 856 hitch does not raise in zero weather

ck to see what hydraulic oil your using , I bet it's an all weather rated oil, if temp is below zero then that's out of "all weather" range , you will need to look into using a cold weather rated oil (ck with you local dealer to ask ), my tractor has an oil bypass lever you can engage on the valve block this allows oil to circulate around in loop to heat up (+20 degrees) to work in cold temps , I don't think a 856 has one of them

121-3 runs great for 5 to 10 minute then when under load tries to stall let up on the load engine catches up change all filters this started when I was digging for 10 hour in very hard dirt

OK you've got me tricked.
The 121-3 is a Kubota number.
If this is a mini excavator, and I own big ones, this is where I would be getting my friendly QUALIFIED mechanic to check the pressures at various points and do the trouble shooting.

Remote valves not working.you can raise frontend loader but it want come down. also the bucket want work . change all hyd fittings.and check pump pressure thats good. need help.

Change the filter. If you can lower the loader by loosening a line at the valve, suspect the valve. All lines usually dump to tank at the valve. Make sure that line is ok. If any valves are electric, suspect them even more.

Can I run a 3 point backhoe through my loader value by unplugging one section of the loader valve and plugging up the backhoe and tie the value open

Yes I run my loader on my IH 826 off of one of the rear remotes by tying the valve open
But remember that you need BOTH a high pressure side and a return path - Won't work if you only have one path

My steering on my 806 Farmall gets stiff, but I mash my breaks and it loosens up. What can it be?

More than likely the issue is in the multiple control valve that feeds both the brakes and the steering. It bolts to the left front of the tranny, right under the battery. While you're in there, it's a good time to re-gasket the pump. Buy yourself an I & T book, # IH-32. You'll need it! Also, don't lose the spring and check valve when you pull the control valve off the tractor!
