Lexmark Interpret S405 will not print color

First, make sure that you're using genuine Lexmark cartridges. If not, replace the color cartridges.

Second, try updating the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.

Third, perform a maintenance on the cartridges. To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.

If the steps above doesn't help and you're using genuine Lexmark cartridges and provided that your printer is still under warranty, please contact our technical support team to have the printhead replaced.

If not, you can go to www.lexmark.com to purchase a printhead.

No ip address and there is no communication

You'll have to connect your printer to your network to get a valid IP address. If you've already tried that, please unplug the power of your printer for about 30 seconds then plug it back in.

Once your printer is back on, connect the USB cable and run the wireless setup. You can access that through Lexmark Printer Home. To access that, on your computer, click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Lexmark Printer Home > Settings tab > Wireless Setup Utility > Follow the prompts.

Make sure to type in the correct credentials for your network.

Have new router. How do I get my printer's wifi back up and running?

Reset your printer's wireless network adapter first before re-connecting it to your new router's wifi network. Check this article from the Lexmark website on How to Reset the Network Settings Back to the Factory Defaults on the 'Impact' S300 and 'Interpret' S400 Series All-in-Ones.
After resetting the printer, check this article on How to Install Lexmark S and Pro Series via Wi-Fi on Mac OS 10.x.
We hope this helps.

I want to connect to a new router but the orange wifi light is on and re installing software does nothing

Try to reset the printer's wireless network settings. On the printer operator panel, press Setup button > Network Setup > Reset Network Adapter to Defaults. Once done, re-launch the Wireless Setup Utility in Lexmark Printer Home application. Follow the instructions on your computer screen. Make sure you enter the correct encryption code if your wireless network is secured. Also, allow full access to all Lexmark printer communication and processes in the program rules/permissions for your firewall.

I have obtained a Lexmark Interpret S405 printer (secondhand) but there is no installation disc. How do I get my hands on one?

The link below take you to the Lexmark Interpret S405 page to download drivers and software. You may have to change your operating system (OS), the default is Windows XP 32-bit. You want to click the "More>>" button to find the link called "Complete drivers and software for setting up,....". You probably dont need to update the firmware unless there is a problem after installing.

I purchase a wireless interprets 405> Do i need a router foir the wireless

X1270 is not a wireless printer...
I find nothing on an Interprets 405...
If you have purchased a wireless printer device, your computer will need a wireless card.
If your computer has wireless built in and you have no router it is called an 'Ad Hoc' network. The printer must support an 'Ad Hoc' network or you will need a wireless router.
'Ad Hoc' networks are notoriously insecure, so a wireless router is a very wise choice. It helps keep you safe from hackers on the Internet as well as it functions as a home firewall and network host.
If this does not help, please give me more detail.
