I am in South Africa so can't buy off ebay easily. Expert BRG1 posted circuit diagrams of both types of speed controllers for the A901 Kenwood in April 2009 but the drawing is too small and doesnt have values for the components. If these could be resent to me it will solve my problem.

Unfortunately that diagram is not freely available online. You will need to contact Kenwood to request a copy of it. Contact them at 800-536-9663

Thanks so much, sorry about that but it is not available anywhere online.

For previous similar fault is unlikely to be the motor, usually is the speed controller components.

There is at eBay a kit and you will require the use of soldering iron for it.

My 7 years old dacor pmor30s microwave oven sometimes works ok, but sometimes it does not heat the food. I don't know why. Do you have any idea?

The most probable cause would be a problem with one of the door switches. When it is not working shake the door up and down and hit "start" again. If that made it work, you would need to test the switches for proper operation.

Sparp R 930 not heating, turntable not turning

I just repaired mine with the same symptoms. I found that the bottom microswitch on the door (there are 3 switches) was faulty. It started as open, when the door closed, the switch closed (good), but when the door was fully closed the switch was open again. I went to Electronic City with the switch in hand, they found me a duplicate that cost me $2.50. BTW - you must take out the door switch assembly, 3 screws plus wires, in order to work on the switch. Also, put the assembly back in so that the door latches close/open the switches correctly. -jk

Some of the buttons on our microwave electronic pad are no longer working. Can I do anything or do I need a repairman?

They may not be fixable, depending on the type of buttons used. Many devices use a 'snap dome' switch, which is a little metal disk that 'pops' in and out like an oil can. Problem is, sometimes they get pushed too hard, or just get old, and they stay in the 'popped' position. It is sometimes possible to repair them, often not. A repairman is likely to charge more than the cost of a new one: they'd have to take the thing pretty much apart to get to it, and then may not be able to fix it.

Sorry it's not much help.

MIcrowave oven stopped heating - Whirlpool MH6150XMS

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part (such as a shorted diode)

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Not the magnetron if intermittent. Probably a bad smartboard. Easy to replace if you know the basic precautions to take.

It's almost certainly a door switch going bad or a loose door switch mount.
