Either the door switch has goen bad, you can physically push in out( breaks easy). if thats seems to function then perhaps your blown thermal fuse. this would disable the entire machine located on rear of unit simple continuity test would see of good or not

Just stopped working still has power-inside light comes on and timer makes noise when you turn dial but does not start when you push start button

This sounds like the door switch. But it could also be the non-resettable thermal fuse inside. Open the door, depress the door switch until it clicks, and while holding it in see if the dryer starts.

Timer appears to not be working, no clicking noise as I turn it, and the dryer will no longer turn on no matter the setting

HI, this absent clicking noise from the timer control is a signal of a failed timer mechanism. replace this damaged timer asap, if possible. it has failed.

Dryer will not turn on

Try clicking the door switch . If no click then the switch may be bad. If the switch clicks, check the belt. Door switch is about 10 bucks and the belt runs for about 15. Timer, 40 and up.

I have a maytag dryer that has power, but the light doesnt work(but it is not burned out) and the dryer will not start. timer works, can anyone tell me what could be the problem

You probably have a bad door switch. When the door is open, the switch should turn on the light. When the door is closed, the switch should allow the dryer to start.

Dryer Won't Start

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Door switch part number 3406109
Thermal fuse part number 3392519
