I replaced the convergence board and the picture is still bowed on the top and bottom. The colors Red and Green are off giving a ghost like image. Do not know where to go from here. Also the picture is the same with or without the convergence board plugged in.

Re: Replaced Convergence Board picture still bowed
Today may be your lucky day. Approach this procedure with extreme caution and take your time. Sometimes when you replace that board you have to do a full digital convergence alignment. With tv off, push mute,1,8,3,power. Tv will come on in service mode. Certain buttons can now screw up the set in a major way, do not guess. press 7 to adj. red, 8 for green, or 9 for blue. Then look for the highlighted "x" intersection. Use directional buttons to adj. while careful to watch screen. Vol+ and - or ch+ and - make moves, mute moves cursor. If alignments move up, down, left, and right continue until all intersections are aligned. Turn power off to start over. When done press add/del on remote to save settings. That should fixya.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,tv convergence board it is dead.Tv have R,G,B colors lines mis alignments, have colors pictures shadows or 3D pictures look alike?Yes.The tv convergence board it is dead.Must require replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv picture convergence problems. The tv shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
Here's all I find regarding bad convergence from the techrepairCD: RCA ~ITC222 D52W20~Convergence bad~~~ITC222~Replace leaky DL032 on deflection board~~~~~~
RCA~D52W20Y ATC221~Convergence goes out/bowed after on for a few minutes~~~ATC221~Problem may be on the deflection board. Was unable to pinpoint where in this case.~~~~~~
RCA~D52W20BYX1 ITC222~Convergence way off after replacing small signal board~EEPROMS were transferred over to new board~~~IK210 was defective..transfer the new EEPROM back over.~Remember on these sets*when replacing the SSB* if there is a small P on corner of screen*hold volume on remote for 8 seconds after it reaches minimum.~~~~~
RCA~D52W20BYX1 ITC222~Can not align blue convergence* bottom really bowed* possibly either color after replacing SSB.(Or no auto convergence.~(Service menu: turn power off for 30 seconds* press vol dn and ch dn* simultaneously for 8 seconds* set turns on with service menu options)~~ITC222~In service menu* select convergence. If sensor calibration was performed when convergence was too far off* it will not alighn.~Get crosshatch with straight lines* perform sensor calibration* then attempt convergence alignment again. Be sure to store settings* then do sensor calibration again.~You must get a green flash of the screen after sensor cal and a check in the box. RED flash indicated convergence settings are too far off~~~~
RCA~D52W20BYX1 ITC222~no convergence correction~~~ITC222~LP650 (259271) DP670 (259246) & RP632 (259564) 4.7 3W on convergence power supply board~~~~~~
Your description of the problem sounds like a convergence issue. You more than likely have lost the convergence ICs. They will need to be replaced and the convergence will have to be set. The green beam should not move. It is the standard which the red and green are moved to overlap. Since you have bow at the top and bottom I would replace the convergence ICs. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4220499-change_projection_tv_convergence_ics which explains the problem, how to replace the parts and where to get the replacement parts.
Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Great ratings will keep the experts helping to solve problems. Thank you.

did you replace the actual convergence ic's or just a small board ? these ic's usually begin with the letters stk392-????. they are about 2 inches high and 3 inches long..black with about 18 pins sticking out the bottom. replace both of them and do the adjustments with mute 183 and you will be good.
You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms. Screen looks 3D One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed in but stationary.
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors.
Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.
If the picture is still bowed, the power supply fuses are open.
Check the power supply on the red connector for + and - 20 volts.
The fuses are on the main board, are on the deflection module in the
middle, tward the front of the TV. They should look like green (or
brown) resistors. An ohmmeter check will show which ones are bad.
They should be 3.5 amps. Replace with 4 ohm GMA fuses with pigtails if
you can't find picofuses. I also had a set that would fry the 1 ohm
resistor on the 20 v supply. This was near the fuses.
I replaced the whole module to fix that.
