Question about Ovens

1 Answer

Model Number: FES355DSA There was a blue flash down by the display along with a "Pop" and everything went dead. I reset the circuit breaker to the range and everything seemed to come back online normal. However the oven now doesn't work. All of the hot plates work normal. Neither the broil function and bake fuction work (meaning no heat from the elements). Digital controls seem to work normal! Do I need to replace the control board? Scott

First the hot plates are all individuals; they are control directly with electric control knob switches. That is the reason that they work fine.

Now from your description the problem is most possible the electronic board. However in many cases there is a loose wire either on the control panel or on the heating elements which they sometimes they have a short with other wire or with the body of the oven- that is the reason for blue light and breaker went off.

So we would advice to check the power wiring of the control panel and the connection point of each element. You should look for a burn black wire or even rusty wire connection, loose wire not connected anywhere. If you find something like this reconnect and test again, if you don't find anything like this then you need to replace the control panel.

How do you reset the control panel on an a mana oven model number AOES3030E

The easiest way would be to throw your circuit breaker, wait 10-15 minutes for good measure, to clear capacitance, then flip the breaker back on. If the display is damaged or dim, get the display board re-built.

My electolux superba convection oven is not maintaining it's temperatures?

Heating elements cold be going bad look at them with a flashlight if either of the elements look thinner than the rest of it then it needs replacing before it goes out completely. With aloud bang a bright arc flash and smoke. Very scary. There's a metal tag on the inside of the oven door jam.write the model and serial number down. Shut off the circuit breaker for the stove should be a 50 amp double breaker. Remove 2 small 1/4 inch screws. Slide the element out straight to you. Remove the 2 wires with the same 1/4 inch nut driver keeping the wires separated .Do Not turn on the circuit breaker till the new elements are installed! !! Use the model and serial number to get your new elements first.

After a "pop" - the oven no longer works

You should have thrown the breaker before moving the oven. The element likely shorted and blew the breaker. make sure the breaker is off. replace the element and plug it back in and reset the breaker.

It appears that the timer has gone faulty, possibly because of a short in the bulb holder, which probably explains why there is no display and the main oven not working. the top will still work as it is not controlled by the timer.
the solution hear would to be fit a new timer.

Unplug your power cord from the socket outlet.
remove the back cover where the power cord connection is housed. visually check the connection, expose wire harness might touches the cover somehow. or the cover was dent that causes the bare wire to touched the cover. correct the dent if any, or tighen loose wire.assemble back cover. Reset your circuit breaker to your Stove because the pop sound might trip off your breaker. That should solve the problem.

Wall Oven No Power

yes the oven thermal fuse blew when the fan went off its also called a tco switch if you pull out the oven and take the top off there will be a tech sheet there that will give the location of the tco some are on top some are on back this can also happen if the oven is too tight in the cabinet not enough room around it to let the heat dissipate its a round metal disc with two wires on it
