I have installed the Pass and Seymour combination GFCI and the test button disconnects the recepticles and the light remains on.

I believe the GFCI is only meant to protect the receptacle. Plig something into it and try the test button and it should work as expected.

How do i properly connect a wall lamp (has white, black & ground wires) to the switch (1595swt) there are 2 black cables coming from the back of the switch unit, but no polarity is indicated and the...

Hi Mark,

If the stranded wires are color coded silver and gold on the switch (you'll have to take back the insulation to see this), then the gold goes to black and the silver to white.
If both are silver, connect either, it doesn't have polarity.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

I to want replace a regular duplex outlet with a TM818-WCC6 and want just the outlet switched. How do I wire it?

The Pass and Seymour plug-switch combo has 3 screws
There is a dark screw on one side .... the black Hot wire from breaker box connects here

There are silver and brass colored screws on other side of device

The white Neutral from breaker box connects to silver screw connects here >>> this will give power to your receptacle
The black wire going to Load (light, fan, motor that you want switch to control) connects to brass colored screw ... the switch controls power to Load

How to test for black Hot
Remove devices and separate wires
Turn on power
Test each wire to bare copper wire
Tester lights up on black Hot wire
How to test for white Neutral
Test black Hot to each white wire
Tester lights up on Neutral

What if the light that is being connected has been added, thus the reason for the outlet being converted from 2 plugs to now 1 with a toggle?

I don't exactly understand your question, but to control that light using a switch you have to have two sets of cable one coming into your switch box and one going out of it. Tie your two whites together and the two black wires go on your switch, whereas on a receptacle black and white wires go on the terminals.

Don't know how to fit the wire into the inside of the switch

Since there are only 2 wires, it doesn't matter which wire goes where. Either way it will work.
