Hey cap33kla,

Please keep in mind that Best Buy™ stores do charge a 15% restocking fee on products from select categories whenever they are returned both opened and non-defective. Those categories include laptop computers, digital cameras, camcorders, GPS devices, radar detectors, mobile video products and PC/video projectors. Additionally, a 15% restocking fee may be charged if a product is returned with components missing that were included in the original packaging (such as owner's manual, power cords, and other accessories).

If you were charged a restocking by your local store and were not missing any components when you returned the iPod, you may wish to speak with a manager at that store location or a Consumer Relations representative at 888-Best-Buy (888-237-8289) for further assistance.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

I have a m3p player the battery doenot hold a charge. I would like to return it and get my money back or a replacement. It is still under warranty. I purchased it 7/20/2009 from RadioShack. Please give me...

It is probably out of store warranty but you can check the original package for any manufacturer warranty. But; before you return the item power it off and wait 2 minutes and then put the battery back in and attempt to charge again

I gave my girlfriend my old laptop computer & recently bought her a classic i-pod, I managed to download the music from the copmputer originally, but recently tried to add another CD which she wanted...

You need to authorize and deauthorize the computers appropriately for using the different ipods on different machines.
Read this article from apple web site.

Deauthorizing a computer allows you to manage which computers can play music, videos, audiobooks, or other content purchased from the iTunes Store.
Authorization helps protect the copyrights on the content you buy. You can use your digital rights management (DRM)-protected music purchases1 from the iTunes Store on up to five different computers (these can be any mix of Macintosh or Windows-compatible computers). When you play an item you've purchased, your computer is "authorized" to play content purchased using your Apple Account.
Note: Songs you encode in AAC format from a source other than the iTunes Store, such as your own audio CDs, and songs from iTunes Plus downloads do not need to be authorized.
Products Affected iTunes Store
To authorize a computer to play purchases using your Apple Account
  1. Select a song, video, or audiobook you've purchased (in your library or the Purchased playlist).
  2. Click the Play button.
If the computer is already authorized, the item plays. If the computer has not yet been authorized, iTunes asks you to enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the song.
Remember to deauthorize your computer before you sell it, give it away, or get your computer serviced.
To deauthorize a computer
  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > Deauthorize Computer (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
  3. Select "Deauthorize Computer for Apple Account" and enter your Apple ID and password.
Make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components, or reinstall Windows. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations.
To deauthorize all computers associated with your account If you find you have reached 5 authorizations, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen.
  1. Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
  2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
  3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
  4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact the iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/).

Additional Information
  • iTunes DRM-protected music includes audio with a bit rate of 128 kbps and allows users to transfer songs and videos to up to five computers, burn seven copies of the same playlist to CD, and sync to an unlimited number of iPods.
  • iTunes Plus music refers to songs and music videos available in our highest-quality 256 kbps AAC encoding (twice the current bit rate of 128 kbps), and without digital rights management (DRM). There are no burn limits and iTunes Plus music will play on all iPods, Mac or Windows computers, Apple TVs, and many other digital music players.
  • While you may need to enter your account information again after initializing or formatting your hard disk, initializing or formatting the hard disk itself does not remove the computer from the list of authorized computers. If you plan to initialize or format your hard disk prior to selling or donating your computer, deauthorize the computer first, then initialize or format the hard disk.
  • Under some circumstances you may be required to enter your registration information again, but this should not use up multiple authorizations. If you think that you may have used up multiple authorizations on just one computer, see One computer using multiple iTunes Store authorizations.
  • The iTunes Store is governed by its Terms of Service, which permits Apple to change the authorization policy.
  • You can authorize computers not located in the United States so you can play previously purchased music.
  • An Apple ID based on an expired .Mac (pronounced "dot Mac") or Mobile Me account name and password can still be used to purchase items and to authorize or deauthorize computers to play purchased music.

Lost songs and games

First check and see if you still have the money on your apple account. If not and you can remember the names of the songs and games go back to itunes and try to re-purchase/re-download the same items and it should say something to the effect of "you have already purchaseed this item, would you like to download it again."

Tevion 4GB MP4 player compatible with I-Pod accessories???

I dont have an ipod to compare it to, but I thnk that ipods use a dock connector, the tevion mp4 player has a mini usb, the kind you usualy find on a digital camera. I might be wrong about this, as there are different types of ipod, so there might be ones that also have usb connectors as well.

Any accessories you purchase have to be designed to plug into a mini usb, so just make sure you check what type of connections your accessories have before buying them.

Alternatively, there are adapter cables out there, ipod docking ones to usb, and usb to mini usb, so it would be possible to rig connections up, they wouldnt look pretty though.

60GB ipod from best buy online as refurbished

Hello cslp,

I believe that you purchased the item online (based on the title of the post) but I am confused about your listing the product "as refurbished." Best Buy stores and the BestBuy.com website do not sell refurbished iPods. We only sell new items, which I believe you item is new based on the fact that you say it was in a sealed box.

If you purchased the iPod from a Best Buy store you can get a full refund or exchange on the item within 30 days of purchase as long as you have the receipt and as long as the product is in new and resellable condition. If you purchased the product from www.BestBuy.com then you can likewise make a return within 30 days or receiving the product.

If for some reason you are past the 30 day return period, there is a one-year manufacturers warranty on iPods. Your local Best Buy store should be assisting you in having the unit sent out for service under the warranty as long as the unit is under warranty.

Best Regards
Ken

I pod service plan

Hey starrmom,

If you are looking to obtain a Best Buy Performance Service Plan (PSP) for your iPod, you will need to return to your local Best Buy™ store for assistance. Only our stores are able to provide customers with PSP coverage at this time, and the PSP must be purchased within 30 days of the iPod itself.

Please keep in mind that you may need to have a copy of your receipt or order confirmation page handy to obtain PSP coverage for your iPod. While Best Buy™ stores can generally track check and debit/credit card purchases, there is no guarantee that we are able to track cash purchases if you have lost your receipt.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Zune

most new electronics have a 1yr parts/labor and when purchased from retailers, the serial # is recorded and may or may not list purchaser information! Let me guess, you paid in cash? but you might also see if Zune has any info as well! The warranties are implied and as long as it has not expired or you remeber getting an extended warr...you should be covered

Battry trouble apple i pod nanno silver brand new

If you just purchased it, return it immediately! If you are beyond the store's return time frame, then send it in to Apple for repair - it should still be under warranty - call 1-800-275-2273

If your iPod fails to hold a charge and it's more than a year old, you may need a new battery - http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/

Hope this helps.
