FEES YOU TOOK MY MONEY IN CASH FOR AN ITEM (I-POD) I PURCHASED. I BROUGHT IT HOME, IT DIDN'T WORK RIGHT. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO RETURN AND PURCHASE A DIFFERENT BRAND. I WAS CHARGED A 15% RESTOCKING FEE!!!! I WAS GOING TO BUY A DIFFERENT MODEL. NOW I AM DONE WITH BEST BUY F O R E V E R !!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM YOUR COMPANY AND SHALL SO INSTRUCT MY FREINDS! NEVER AGAIN! K ADAMS

Please keep in mind that Best Buy™ stores do charge a 15% restocking fee on products from select categories whenever they are returned both opened and non-defective. Those categories include laptop computers, digital cameras, camcorders, GPS devices, radar detectors, mobile video products and PC/video projectors. Additionally, a 15% restocking fee may be charged if a product is returned with components missing that were included in the original packaging (such as owner's manual, power cords, and other accessories).

If you were charged a restocking by your local store and were not missing any components when you returned the iPod, you may wish to speak with a manager at that store location or a Consumer Relations representative at 888-Best-Buy (888-237-8289) for further assistance.

go back to the store with you receipts and bank statement and speak with the manager and explain what has happened

L have a credit from a company for a returned item, now can that credit be used to pay for any item i purchase from other people as on ebay?


credit has to be returned to your account or it is not credit but captured cash for the company
Talk with a lawyer as to how to get it back into your account
and that is why you should only use paypal as the credit would have to go to your paypal account then you can use it on other e-bay purchases

Yes you can return that tablet to the manufacturer official store. If they have any assistance about this . Mainly in these case they only give repair warranty not like that they take thier product back and give you your money back . Hope you undertand . Thankyou.

Only the company that you purchased it from can answer that question for you. Sometimes a store manager can waive the restocking fee, but that depends on the store and the manager. CC returns may not always show up right away, I believe they have up to 30 days to process the transaction, but usually happens sooner. Again, check the store that you purchased it from as they will have definite answers to these questions.

Well, I purchased a GPS for my car, a Tom Tom XL.S from "Best Buy".

They have a policy that it must be returned within 14 days for a refund!

So after 4 days I returned it in the original box with all the items in the box, with paper work and cords all wrapped in the plastic. Just as I received it, including the receipt.

I explained to the lady at the return desk I did not like the way it could not find store names. The lady at the refund desk said, there is a 15% restock fee, for items returned. I said no one told me that. I said how much would that be. She said it goes by the price of the item. It will be $45.00 Dollars for you. I said, all you're going to do is walk over and place it back on the self! Then charge me $45.00 of my money for restocking!! She said that's the store policy. I said if more people

I said OK, just give me my money minus the restock fee. She said, since the item is over 200.00 dollars, she can't give me my money back!!! Corporate has to and they will mail you a check in 7 to ten days.

It's my money!! I paid in cash! I want to buy a different brand..Now I have to wait 7 to 10 days. She said well, our policy is on the back of your receipt.

I said, do you read the front or back of your receipt? She said well,the front! I said so do I, I want to talk to the Manager!.

So the manager comes over, I explained everything to him, and he said, well, sir they should have told you about the policy when you got the item. I said, No one, has ever told me about the check refund or restock fee, whenever I bought items from computers to TVs from Best Buy. The only thing they ever discussed was the worthless extended warranty program. He said Well, I can give you corporate's phone number.

I called corporate. The guy said, well, I'm not supposed to do this but I can give you a 45.00 dollar gift card and you can use it at Best Buy.I told him if I bought something and returned it, you would charge me a restock fee on the item and then send me a check for the remaining 3 dollars. You can keep your gift card, I'm never shopping in Best Buy ever again, and If I would have been smart, I would have charged the whole thing on my credit card! Then I would have canceled the transaction.

I would have gotten all my money back including your stupid Fees! He didn't say a word!

I informed him that I was going to e-mail my friends and give them a heads up on this stores policy, as they don't tell you about all there little caveats

So please pass this on. It may save your friends from having a bad experience of shopping at Best Buy.

The return period for most products sold through your local Best Buy™ store is 30 days, but please keep in mind that there are some exceptions. Monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, video games purchased as used, desktop computers and notebook computers must be brought back to your local store within 14 days of purchase in order to be returned or exchanged.

Additionally, some products are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned opened and non-defective. Those products are notebook computers, camcorders, digital cameras, projectors, radar detectors, GPS navigation devices, and all mobile (in-vehicle) video systems. For special order products however, the restocking fee is 25%.

Remember that the restocking fee is only charged when the product is returned opened and non-defective - we are unable to waive this fee if you are simply dissatisfied with your purchase.

Broken tv - hdmt does not work


Hey U896693,

Should you have a defective product you need to return or exchange, the process can vary depending if you brought the TV home yourself or had it delivered.

If you brought the TV home on your own, you would need to return the TV to your local Best Buy™ store yourself within 30 days of the purchase date in order to process a return/exchange. We can always pick up TV's that are 25" or larger if you would like, but there would be a pick-up/delivery fee involved if you did not originally have the TV delivered by us.

On the other hand, if you had the TV delivered by a Best Buy™ store, you have 30 days from the date that you took possession of the TV to contact that store and arrange a return. Remember that you must physically be in the store to process a return or exchange, as we do require a signature with all return transactions.

Additionally, please keep in mind that if you purchased the TV online instead of through your local store, you must contact a BestBuy.com support agent in order to arrange a return. You can reach sales support by calling our toll-free hotline at 1-888-Best-Buy (888-237-8289), and requesting to speak with a BestBuy.com representative.
