Cannot format a new memory card in cannon powershot g5 camera

Try formatting in a PC. If fails then card is bad ! Return for exchange. If works in the camera, great.
( or you may need to format it in the camera too.)

Cannon Powershot A540 SanDisk SDHC 4 gb I insert the card and receive a memory card error. Can't format

Hi,

A 4 gb memory card is beyond the capacity of your Cannon A540. It is too large. I would stick with a 1 gb card in that camera.

Windows Vista doesn't recognize camera

well, first, u should check what format of the video file from your cannon. In my opinion, it may be mod format, and vista and lots of players will not support mod. u should try to convert mod to some regular format .

When i turn the camera on it says format error and i cant take any pictures

Please take out memory stick from camera and power up camera and check still gives format error?
If no further error then put memory stick back in camera and press Menu >> Format >> OK to format memory stick. That will delete all data on memory stick and refresh it for new photos.

My Cannon ZR200 was working good but now when I play back my dv tape there are 5 gray lines on my camera screen and the tv if I play back on the tv, I can play that same tape in my brothers camera with no...

It sounds like your saying the gray lines are appearing on your camera and on the tv when you play from the camera but not on your brothers camera. It sounds like your heads are dirty. Get a head cleaner and you should be good to go. Please take a moment to rate my solution fixya.
Thanks and enjoy,
Lee
