Question about Frigidaire FWS833A Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Good afternoon! We have a Frigidaire top load washer, model # FWS445RFS2. The tub continuously fills with water and we must manually stop the washer and then turn the dial to spin & drain. It cannot complete its cycle on its own without overflowing. Do you know the cause and if a replacement part is available? Thank you. Joe & Janet from RI.

Joe, remove panel to get access to outside of outer tub. You will see a "bell" with a soft 3/8 clear line coming from it. That is your water pressure hose and it goes to a switch in the control panel. Remove one side from the bell housing, outer tub, and check for gookus. Clean out all obstructions. If there isn't any obstruction in the line, you need a new pressure switch up in control panel. There is a small chance that there is something on the inside of the outer tub which is obstucting air bell but I don't see this very often. Hope this helps,

Tub fill line leaking

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the washer on your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FEX831CS, is leaking at the back of your appliance. I also see that the dryer is in the way of accessing the line that is leaking. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your appliance and should be able to change the line with ease. Hope this is helpful.

Affinity top loader

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Affinity washer starts to fill with water and stops, while the counter continues counting down. I also see that nothing is happening while this is going on. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at the circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully.

My washer want stop filling up and when I should the machine off the water runs in the floor

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FWS833A, will not stop filling. I see that you shut the machine off and the water runs onto the floor. I suggest shutting the water off at the inlet. From there I would contact your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why the water will not stop filling your washer. Hope this is helpful.

Machine keeps filling up, replace pressure switch, still nohting, keeps filling up?

Hello dwl770 - If your washer won't stop filling up with water and overflows the tub, check for one of these problems:

1) Turn off the electricity to the washer. If the water *stopped* filling when power was disconnected, the problem would usually be in the control system of the machine. If the water still continues, then the plunger in the water valve is either stuck open or slow to close. Try turning the water faucets off and on a few times. This small joltmight unstick the water valve. If not, it will need replacing.

2) There could be a problem with the water level switch. Call in a professional.

3) There is a pressure switch hose that is attached to an air dome. This switch tells the washer that there is water in the tub and allows the agitator to start.

- Remove the control panel and you will notice a small hose. See if it popped off of the air dome. If it did, secure it with a zip tie.

If water flow continues, but drains out immediately, then raise the drain hose above the highest water level line of the tub. Do not seal the drain hose to the discharge pipe. This could cause a siphoning action.

The washer will not fill all the wayto the top.yourmachine is functioning properly.when you have an empty tub and put it on super load and fill it up there should be 12 to 14 inches of water in the tub. that is the normal operating settings for your washer.

Frigidaire (LTF2940E) Washer starts, stops, starts, stops...

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
