Question about Kenmore 3.8 cu. ft. HE3 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

1 min remaining time takes 30 mins

I have a front load HE3. Once the timer reaches 1 min, it actually takes 20-30 min before the cycle finishes. Does anyone know why???

The timer given a approximation of time left and because of balance the machine is fluffing the clothes to achieve a balance.

And for the guest it looks like you have junk in the pump. Need to access the panel below the door by removing the screws and getting a bucket, removing the large screw to the left of the pump and checking for debris in the filter, in the boot, behind the pump and look in the hole when the filter is out for damaged impeller or coins.

Kenmore HE3 2plus wont finish cycle

I'm not saying you don't have a problem. But just to be clear. You do understand that the last minutes on these machines can vary. The machine senses certain conditions in clothing, water discharge, etc. So sometimes the "1 min left" indication can stretch into many minutes. In theory, at least, it's possible your machine just needs to be left alone until it finishes whatever it's doing. However, one would think that any issues not resolved in 10 - 20 min are an indication of a problem. So i guess that's my next question, did you wait long enough? Keep in mind i am not a kenmore expert.

Stops mid cycle. Light flashes, cant get it to move on so have to start all over again

Hi there.
I have the same problem with my machine. Whatever program I select, the machine runs fine until it reaches 54 mins of the cycle remaining. To overcome the problem just to select a cycle that will not stop mid cycle, select a program which is less than 54 mins. I think the 40 degrees and quick wash select is the one to run with. The cycle is 45 mins, obviously less that 54 mins. The LED timer will display the cycle time. No problems with this cycle whatsoever. Not the total solution, but at least you're able to complete a cycle. After it's completed, I also run the spin program at 1200rpm. I hope this helps.
Regards, Ian.

When the timer gets down to 1 minute left and the machine is on the spin cycle, it takes another 10-20 minutes to finish the cycle. The total 40 min. cycle takes over an hour to complete. Does anyone know...

The timer is only an estimate. pull the botttom cover of the front of the machine. There is a cleanout on the water pump, if its clogged it could be the cause of your timer taking so long

Time remaining stays at 1 min for 20 min

Hi,
This may happen if using the Super-eco program.

It is designed to extend the washing time / cycle, but is less intesive in rotations. It's more a long gentle soak than a quick scrubbing action.

Thank you for using Fixya! If this provided a solution, please rate as such. Thanks.

Long wash times

I've had this problem, particularly with towels - it's quite annoying & not energy or water efficient at all. According to the manual, the unit has a sensor that senses if there is too much soap & it will continue to wash until the soap is removed. I found that this happened frequently on the "cotton" cycles & max spin. I've tried to make sure I use less soap, but I also use the perm-a-press cycle & the spin 1 down from max. Hope this helps

Ge front load-

We had the same scenario, only our clothes were still very wet when it finally finished the cycle. To cure all three we cleaned the filter behind the front panel. It was badly plugged and it, and the water it was holding up, smelled foul. So far so good since.
