Question about Epson Stylus 2200 InkJet Photo Printer
I have an epson stylus photo 2200 that prints beautiful photos except for the first 1/4 to 1/2 inch coming out. This is discolored with a yellowish tint. Rest of print is beautiful - any size from 4x6 through letter size. Inks are fresh, and all lights, indicators, function OK. This is NOT a band, rather a gradual shift to the proper colors; almost like it's feeling its way to the proper color rendition. Prints from Windows (VISTA), Photoshop Elements, and Picassa all render the same result.
This may sound idiotic, but print out a nozzle check pattern in your maintenance tab. Good chance you have a clogged printhead. Check out how to do a print head cleaning and what solutions and tools you'll need. Careful if you're using compatible inks or refilled cartridges, or long expired ink.
This one works great for me. Go GENTLY, best not to use Windex or any unauthorized solutions, as they may cause damage to plastic parts.
