As soon as the proper pressure balances are established the cooling process starts. Nomenclature of "Re Gassing" is not the term someone who knows refrigeration would use. In the trade the term recharging would be used. However certain procedures are necessary before this is done. If the system lost its charge there is a leak which must be located and repaired. The system filter dryer must be changed. The system must be evacuated to a very low vacuum to remove any air and moisture from the system. Then the charge should be weight in according to the system name plate charge. Over or under charging can cause problems. This operation should only be attempted by qualified people.

Got a beko chill53w fridge and its freezes up at the back but doesn't get cold. Any ideas?

If it freezez inside at the back, check the door seals. If it freezes on the rear radiator outside, the gas needs settling or re gassing.

Our fridge has been unplugged and unused for a couple of years. We plugged it up, everything seems to be running, we hear the motor humming, the lights are on but neither the freezer nor the fridge are...

After such a long preriod of not being used the fridge probably needs re-gassing. You will have to call someone in to carry this task out.

Frig is not cooling at all

Try bypassing the thermostat. If the compressor runs and cools the fridge the thermostat needs replacement. If it runs and does not cool, the fridge needs re-gassing. If it does not run, check the wiring and plug. If that is ok then the compressor is faulty.

I have thoroughly cleaned out my Zanussi fridge/freezer, but there is still a lingering smell. It is definitely not food related, Could it be to do with the 'gassing' of the appliance?

unfortunaly you will have to remove the back panals in the freezer to expose the evaporator... and spray with antibactirial cleaner.. as barcteria grows hear and causes smells... nothing to do with gassing.... if gas leaked out the appliance wont cool at all.... Rob

Hi at the back of my fridge freezer i think the compressor at the bottom is very hot, also the small pipes at the back is not heating as much as the compressor, actually anything but hot but not cold...

It possibly needs re gassing. Call a refridgeration expert in to look at it for you, there is nothing you can do without the gas bottles and evacuator.
Hope that helps.

Amana SBD 522VEBONY - fridge freezer is not staying cold -

If your freezer works after regassing...and after sometime the problem occurs again. It seems to me that there is leak on the pipes in which where the gas runs, that is why it runs for sometime after regassing, after some time the gas that was loaded during regassing leaked through the atmosphere and the problem occurs again. It would be better if you replace it with a new fridge.
Hope this idea helps.
