The oven temperature safety switch is located behind the back panel-chassis internally in the oven. You can use the light of the oven if it can light or use a flash light to find a hole on the panel and recognise its reset push button. Use a screwdriver and push once in this button, if you can here well you will hear a click meaning that the thermostat is reset to on position again.

We have here a link with parts layout showing the safety oven thermostat

Is the part number 13 at the Upper Oven page 2.

Sw/ov temp - Oven temperature saftey switch.

Just a note after resetting the safety thermostat you should work it with care in order to be sure if it was triggered accidentally off or if there is a problem in electronic control.

We are talking about the same thing safety thermostat is a thermal fuse.

Just to confirm the model of your oven have some more letters after RBD245 like RBD245PDB2 or RBD245PDQ1 or similar . So can you confirm exactly the model of your oven.

Panasonic Microwave NN-CT552W has no power - plug fuse ok - Has it got a thermal cut out or internal fuse? - Unit was ok after cooking some jacket potatoes

All microwaves has both internal thermal cut out and internal fuse, Yours problem sounds like an open 9 volts transformer that power up the front panel

Most likely a fuse or thermal cutoff device (TCO or thermal fuse), usually mounted on top of the oven cavity, between the oven cavity and the outer cabinet panel.

How do I get to the fuse on my cabinet tappan microwave?

Then you have blown a fuse. Check inside the oven chamber and look for missing powder paint or signs of arcing, if so dispose of the microwave. If the inside is good remove all the screws and remove the cover. Replace the fuse. If the magnetron was making louder noises prior then replace the magnetron. Since the fuse went the giant capacitor is likely bad. While the cabinet is open make sure to look for burned wires, check the continuity of thermal cutoffs, and check the main circuit-board for burned traces or components. The relays in most electronics are known for arcing (spot welding) and staying in the wrong position. Tap them hard with the back end of a screwdriver. During all of this use safe electrical practices by having the power cord unplugged. The capacitor could still have a high charge on it so be careful.

It's completely dead?? Not sure what happened. Power supply is fine.

Microwaves that suddenly loose power could have many causes with the easiest being a blown fuse inside the cabinet of the oven. To check for this unplug the unit and remove the screws that hold the cabinet in place. Be sure to not touch any of the electrical components inside to avoid shock. Visually follow the path the power cord takes as it enters the unit. The fuse ( usually clear glass with metal ends and cylindrical in shape ) should be located not far from where it enters the cabinet. Once located use a fuse puller or other means to carefully remove the fuse to check the element inside. If the fuse is blown take it to a hardware or electronics store for replacement. These fuses are cheap as this has happened to me before. Good luck!

Microwave went dead

Hi

If your microwave oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these: Fuses Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it.

Door switch If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Whirlpool microwave 2003 stopped working & inside light is on

The most likely cause is a blown fuse or a kicked circuit breaker. Look in the cabinet above the microwave and see if the microwave is plugged into the ou let in that cabinet. If it is plug a blow dryer or some other little appliance in to that same outlet to see if you have power there. If no power go to your electrical panel and either replace the fuse or turn the breaker off and then back on.

No power replace fuse

there are thermal fuses as well as the ceramic power fuse. one is located on the heating element(magnatron) and one on the cabinet. if the one on the magnatron is blown you more than likely have a bad mag as well. if it is the one on the cabinet it just got too hot while cooking
