Question about Singer 3820 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

I'm trying to clean and oil my singer 3820. Can you tell me exactly where I should oil this machine? I am having a problem finding a maintenance manual. I don't have a problem taking the machine apart and getting it back together... I just need to know where I should oil the machine to work better.

Go to www.singerco.com and click on support and download your manual for free. It will tell you where to oil your machine. Look on page 40. Good luck happy sewing

Scholastic 6510. Where do I oil it?

Is there a maintenance section in the manual that instructs how and what to clean? If so, does it mention anything about oil? If not, then it is likely yours is a computerized machine and may not require oiling.

Does the singer model 3820 take a special bobbin? I cannot get it to feed the thread up to the needle.

It takes a singer or universal bobbin with a flat top - not one of the plastic ones that has a curve to the top.

These might give you an idea on cleaning and oiling your machine - I also use my vaccum cleaner sometimes- but very carefully.
Always use sewing machine oil - singer brand is good. - If you have pipe cleaners they are good to use on hard to reach places.
