Question about Frigidaire 24 in. FDB126RB Built-in Dishwasher

Jammed door release

The door latch doesn't release. With the door stuck in the closed position, how do I get the door open so I can examine the latch mechanism to find the problem? If I can remove the screws holding the dishwasher to the underside of the countertop, which will be tough, so I can pull the unit out, will there be a way to free the latch from the outside?

Yes if you can pull the washer out or lift the counter top there is a safty latch to prevent the washer from being opened when running if it is stuck on between cycles you should be able to release it with a small screwdriver

I have a 2002 Acura MDX and the latch is jammed or broken and the door will not click shut because the latch will not catch. Is there a way to fix it without replacing the mechanism?

Which door? Will the door close and not latch or will the door not quite close and bangs as you try to close it. Have a look inside the latch to see if the latch is in the locked position. If it is, pull on the door handel and use your finger to release the latch into the open position. If latch is in the open position, check the striker attached to the door jamb to make sure the screws have not come loose and allowing the striker to move causing the door to not properly close

Hatch latch will not shut, not matter how hard you shut it.

try unlocking it while its open sometimes they get jammed up by trying to close them and the latch will get hung up in the closed position if you take the key and hold it in the unlock position (don't release ) and then try to manuver the metal latching part it will pop loose ,doors are famous for this !

My 2000 olds bravada glove box door is stuck open the latch won't let me close it. Even though there is no way to lock it it seems locked! Do I need new latch or can I fix this one?

Your latch might be in the closed position before you even close the door, try using a small screwdriver on the latch while pressing the release button, if it's stuck closed then this will open it to the right position so it will lock closed when you close the door. If this does not work, sometimes the problem is in the striker (the little tab that the lock hits when the door is closed, this usually has 2 small screws holding it in place, you should be able to loosen both screws & adjust the striker forward or backward so the latch will make better contact with it.

Rear latch lock stuck in the open position

use a round bar ( a screw driver ) and place it under the latch and pull the latch out as you press the button to unlock as if you were opening the door.

Driver door wont close- latch on door is jammed

The claw on the latch is probably just latched without the striker being in it. Try holding one of the door handles in the open position and use your finger to rotate the latch to the open position then release the handle and see if it will shut. Hope that helps

The locking mechanism in my door is stuck in the closed position. that little "c" hook isnt moving at all, and my door will not fully close. is there a release latch somewhere?

Open the car door and pull on the release latch that you use to open the car door from the inside to get out. At the same time use a screwdriver to push up the latch on the side of the door. Sometimes the seatbelt gets caught on the door when you close it causing the latch on the side to close prematurely.

Door Open but latch in closed position - HELP!

You need to operate the door release handle at the same time as applying pressure to the latch you can see just inside the door (imagine which way it would move if the thing was working as designed), the tech has possibly simulated a door closed position for testing purposes.

Doors won't close

Manually UNLOCK the door button or slide. HOLDING the OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE in the OPEN position, with your other hands finger, LIFT OPEN the latch, and close your door. Hope this helps.
