Question about White Sewing 1766 Mechanical Sewing Machine

I( was given this machine and with it they gave me a can of 3 in one oil. I don't know much but I'm pretty sure this is not what should be used on this machine. Am I right?

I believe that the 3 in 1 oil is what they have been using in it. How can I clean all this off and start over with the correct stuff?

No... use sewing machine oil for it. You can get it at your local fabric store or at Walmart.

Memory Craft 7000 making terriable noise

the machine is showing it doesn't need oiling or the manual says
it's a self oiling machine?
if the machine is self oiling the DON"T oil the machine.
if you think the noise is from the tension dial,, the try using a can of
air or unwaxed dental floss on the tension dial if you have access
to the tension dial.
or the machine may need to be checked to find why it's making the
noise. the machine may just need some adjustments or a tune-up
depending on when the machine has been serviced last.

Riccar sewing machine 606 super stretch wont turn all the way

Older machines usually suffer from dried up oil and a build up of fuzz and lint. You'll need to do some serious cleaning and oiling. Look for trapped threads between moving parts. Use "liquid wrench" to clean capture drips and allow to soak for a bit. Then wipe down and use a good sewing machine oil.

Also if you mean that the needle is hitting something... that means the machine is out of time and needs to be timed.

I've tried to look up the manual for this but haven't found anything free for download. However there is a "608" that should at least give you some hints on what to do for your machine, oil points etc.

Get cleaned and oiled up really well... then if you still have bindinding issues check the timing.

I have a two in one sewing machine modle CBT-938 where can I buy parts?

I would suggest buying yourself a nice one, wether it's a new or used sewing machine but please make sure to get a manual with the machine you buy
if you check ebay make sure they have feedback of 90 to 100..
thrift stores are ok but you never know why they gave the machine away, it
could be a treasure to sew on or a pain in the pocker book.

Hi, i was given a beautiful classic singer 675U1/3 and it was working but stitching at the bottom needed to be fixed. I tried all the settings and eventually decided to clean and oil the machine as per the...

Have you got the flywheel clutch fully engaged on it? I think this is the flywheel inner and outer on the Singers but if you've got the manual it should describe how.

If you want some help to get it going I'd suggest you join a Yahoo group of Singer enthusiasts and ask for a bit of help there, they love their old machines and some members are very knowledgable and happy to share. There is several groups "Singers" "Vintagesingers" or "Wefixit" so you might want to join a couple and lurk around the message boards, there is lots of really helpful info in files and photos too.

It may be that you've got oil onto the drive belt or something really simple - I'm not a Singer expert though and don't know their models real well but there are lots of classic Singer enthusiasts out there on these groups.

I have an older Elna Lotus SP and I can't get the bobbin to spin. I'm pretty sure I have the bobbin in correctly (right side up, thread through the 'spring' in the back so it 'clicks' and up through hole...

Try inserting a new needle, and see if that helps. Make sure that you have the flat side facing the rear of the machine. If not, it may need a tune up. I understand where you want to keep it for sentimental reasons, so it may well be worth it. Just make sure that you pick someone who knows machines. I saw a free manual online for your machine, www.sewingonlineco.uk/instructions/elnalotus/. I did notice that, if it hasn't been oiled, it needs some in the hook area of the bobbin case. Hope, that I helped you. Good luck
