Internet Explorer hangs up

Ever since I switched to HSI, my IE browser hangs up repeatedly while logged onto eBay, specifically, when I start searching under a certain category. It doesn't do this when logged onto other websites. I turned off all toolbars except the standard buttons. What's going on?

Dumb question: which Windows CD? I couldn't find one among the disks that came with the computer.

I keep getting IE7 hangs while browsing Ebay. It appears to happen a lot more (all the time?) when I am operating searches or in MyEbay. The cpu always go to 24-26% utilization when hung, but the task never gets reported as not responding. This started within the past few weeks, and might(?) have been coincident to the Service Pack installation on Vista, but I'm not sure of this. Anyone?

I can nt log in to my gmail account. It will not go to the page to log in and when it does, it just does nothing. i have had this fro several years and have never had this problem before.

Thank you for writing in regard to your concern abouit unable to log in to your Gmail account. Let me help you with this.

First, I would like to know if there is any error message that is showing up?

If no, it would be best if you check if your browser block certain sites like the one that you are trying. You will be able to view the pop up blocker settings under "tools" of your browser. Please make sure that it is turned off.

Now, if the pop up blocker is turned off, next thing you can do is to clear your browsers cache and cookies.

I think this problem could possibly be resolved by clearing the cache and cookies of your browser if you haven't done so recently. If you need help with this, can you please tell me if you use Internet Explorer, Firefox, or otherwise.

Cookies are pieces of information generated by a Web server and stored in the user's computer so that a website will remember the user's past activity. The cache is the information that your browser saves about websites to enable it to load faster upon repeat visits. Unfortunately, because these pieces of information are saved and not always up to date, they can cause browser difficulties, so clearing them is the only way to reset everything.

Clearing your browsers cache and cookies will depend on the browser you are using. Let me provide you the link where you can find the steps:

Here it goes:

Now, if the problem still persists, the last option would be changing your browser.

Google Chrome and Safari are notorious for having problems with certain pages on the eBay site, since the site code isn't optimized for those browsers. If you have Firefox or Internet Explorer on your computer, I would recommend you try using one of those browsers when using eBay instead.

Im new to eBay and I'd like to know how I can find specific items up for auction

Go to the site specific to your country, or I assume if you do for example it will take you to the relevant place too.

Once there depending upon what your after your best place to start is the search bar. Say I was looking for a new Mac Book I would enter just that to start the ball rolling.

Then on the Left Hand Side (LHS) you will be presented with a bunch of relevant options, like if its brand New or Used (ie second hand).

In my example I'm after a computer so I would choose the "apple computers and components category" then on the LHS again I would choose "Apple Laptops" that way I wont see all the accessories like screen protectors.

Hopefully you have got some good results by now, but if you have some specific features in mind, eg size of shoe if your after second hand shoes (clothes are usually a bargain) you can also select these in the LHS menu.

When bidding place a bid that is the maximum you are willing to pay and the site will slowly up your bid automatically if someone else bids less than you.

Good Luck!

My email ad doesn't wok & i can't log in on my facebook account

Your browser may be executing scripts that are hanging up or stopping your browser from going to certain pages.

If you are using firefox, go to Tools>addons search for addons and download the NO Script addon.

If using IE there is no script protection.

I am battling this problem right now. UGHHHHHH

Unable to log in to certain websites

Do you have more than one browser on the affected computer? If so , try in the other browser (If not I suggest you get Firefox at

Probably the most common cause of your type of problem is a corrupted temp page or cookie.
So in IE go to tools/ internet options/ general / temp internet files
Click delete files / delete all offline content.
For the cookies , if you do not have any customized sites, click on delete cookies. Otherwise, click on settings/ view files and delete the cookie for that site.
If you have used auto complete to log in , it is possible that the auto complete became corrupted. Unfortunately in IE you cannot just edit specific sites as you can in Firefox.
Go to tools / internet options/ content/ personal information/ auto complete /
Click on clear passwords.

Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

step 2: common issue if caps lock is on// people forget to turn off caps lock and type the password in capital letters//
step 3:- in xp uninstall IE 8 , from ad and remove programes, restart the computer, either IE 6 or IE 7 will get installed automatically then check it should work.

Not able to logg into yahoo mail at all!

Logging into Yahoo mail results in "opening page about: blank" IE browser hang.
This is not caused by a virus, trojan, spyware or anything like that! Yahoo have been making changes to the appearance of their home page and also their e-mail, you've probably seen the new choices.
As a result, the screen resolution of 800 x 600 on many PCs will no-longer allow you to sign in without the "opening page about: blank" IE browser hanging problem.
Try changing your screen resolution to 1024 x 768, that should cure it!
Right click on desktop / Properties / Settings and move slider to 1024 x 768

I have had this problem on my V3 also, turns out that the flex cable tends to get cold solder joints, find someone at one of your local mom and pop cell phone stores. Can usually find parts on ebay. Am not sure exactly which cable it is, had local tech that discovered he could solder the connections on the cable.
