Question about Systemax Venture PC Desktop

Internet Explorer hangs up

Ever since I switched to HSI, my IE browser hangs up repeatedly while logged onto eBay, specifically, when I start searching under a certain category. It doesn't do this when logged onto other websites. I turned off all toolbars except the standard buttons. What's going on?

Dumb question: which Windows CD? I couldn't find one among the disks that came with the computer.

I keep getting IE7 hangs while browsing Ebay. It appears to happen a lot more (all the time?) when I am operating searches or in MyEbay. The cpu always go to 24-26% utilization when hung, but the task never gets reported as not responding. This started within the past few weeks, and might(?) have been coincident to the Service Pack installation on Vista, but I'm not sure of this. Anyone?

Set homepage

I am assuming that you are talking about your browser being set to a specific homepage for you to go to as soon as you open up the browser of your choice to browse the internet. The problem is that you did not label the browser type that you are using so it is difficult to give you step by step instructions. When asking questions here it is best if you can describe the entire problem that you are having and the appropriate details to receive the appropriate help (IE browser in this case, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, ETC...).

Internet Explorer:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/change-home-page#ie=ie-10

Google Chrome:

Safari:

Firefox:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page

Hopefully this will help you I listed the most common Browsers that I can think of off the top of my head. If yours is nto listed the feel free to search google, "how to set homepage for ............." and it should list the appropriate steps for you.

When I am on the internet most times I get an error that an unexpected error has occured & my browser page just closes & dissapears. I have internet exployer 7. Can someone please help me.

Yes its a problem with Internet Explorer (IE). Try to upgrade it to latest version.

OR you can switch to another browser like Firefox, Opera or Chrome. These load pages faster, don't hang and yes they don't close pages by themselves.

Why does my internet freeze? what can I do

If your computer as a whole is freezing, then you have to check for viruses / malware.
But, if it is only your internet that freezes up, then try resetting your Internet Explorer.
I am presuming that you are using Internet Explorer 7 or 8, as your browser.
To reset Internet Explorer (IE) :-
1. Open Internet Explorer .
2. Click Tools, and then click Delete Browsing History.
3. In Delete Browsing History, click Delete All.
4. Click to select the Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons
check box, and then click OK.
5. Switch to the Security tab.
6. Click Reset all zones to default level, and then click OK.
7. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
8. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
9. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the default settings, click
Close, and then click OK .
10. Uncheck Enable third-party browser extensions option in the Settings box
11. Close Internet Explorer . The changes take effect the next time that
you open Internet Explorer .
Try to reset IE, as explained above.
Even after resetting IE, if IE still freezes, then there may be some viruses / malware on your computer.

When i try to log in to hotmail it says internet cannot display

Download Firefox. It is a browser and much better than IE.

It will work 100% I can assure you. Since IE (Internet Explorer) is used by a large number of people, most malware is built for it to infect maximum number of people.

IE 32-bit browser need to run on my 64-bit browser

Hi buddy323,

You will find the 32 bit browser on your Vista installation disk. Or your restore CD from Dell.

If you can't find it there, you can download it HERE. Or may want to go for the IE version 8.

Good Luck and don't forget to leave a rating.

Thanks Mark

My internet explorer

Could you please let me know which operating system and version of IE used?

Also check if your internet is working properly, for this run Command prompt --> enter ping www.yahoo.com -t

If it gives reply ...
then internet connection is ok.

If it is window Xp with internet explorer 7.0, then you need to roll back the IE from 7.0 to 6.0.

IF it is window Vista, then use Google chrome as Web Browser.

Let me know in more detail so I can investigate further and fix the problem.

Http/1.1 internal server error

You may have spyware redirecting your browsing attempts.
You may also have flakey internet settings.
I dobut it has anything to do with your video drivers.
Verify your internet settings. Try to reset internet explorer to its defaults. And the same with firefox. As I am not at my PC right now I cannot walk you through the exact step by step for resetting IE. but instructions for this process can be found at the Microsoft site and are normally harmless to try.
Other then that, I would make sure any antivirus software is functioning properly and try and disable any third party firewalls TEMPORARILY.
Good Luck.
