It is asking for an envelope. Check your page setup and/or your tray configuration. Also make sure your paper stops in the tray is set at the type of paper it is for.

Load tray plain, letter Error shows by printer

You need to go into the paper setup on the printer and make sure that it is set for plain letter. The error you are getting is your printer thinking it does not have the correct paper loaded for the print job you sent.

My LaserJet 4,000N HP printer is giving me an error everytime I print. when printing certain documents I get a message on the printer " tray 1 load plain A" to get past this i have to push ok...

you need to go into your printer properties and make sure when you push print, it's NOT asking to be printed on A4 paper which thats what it sounds like. Make sure its set for exactly what you have in the tray and make sure the printer paper tray setting are set to exactly what you have in the tray also... should this be of any help, please mark as FixYa!! I have HP laser jet 4350dtn heavy duty printer. It is attached with thye network point. And the configuration is done on the server. Then for the client machines I install via from the server since it is...

1 of 2 things. Either the paper type and size is not set right in the printer menu for tray 2. or the physical setting in the tray are not exactly on letter. The printer is looking for letter paper and does not see it in tray 2. If you load tray 1 with paper and press the green button my guess is it will use that paer and tray. First chack to make sure the setting in the tray are exactly on letter, it uses that and little fingers on the left side to tell the printer there is letter paper in the tray.

Hp laserjet must manually push button to print

Please print a configuration page from the control panel of the printer
- Menu > Information menu > print configuration.
- Check for paper handling details.
Following setting should reflect.
Tray 1: Any size / Any Type
Tray 2: A4 size / Plain Type

If the above settings are not reflecting in the configuration page, please change accordingly by browsing on the control panel of the printer to:
Paper Handling Menu >
Tray 1 Size: Any
Tray 1 Type: Any
Tray 2 Size: A4
Tray 2 Type: Plain

Let me know if that helps to solve the issue.

hi ray, it's chris. i called your cell phone, but figured you might see this. replace the registration clutch. after some research, this seems to be the solution given that should solve the issue in that printer, and it's an independant part from the paper pickup assembly...

Print job will not print from the manually feed tray unless I select the Go button for it to process

Table 3-7. Paper Handling Menu
Item Values Explanation
For supported paper sizes
see page 1-12.
This item appears only when the
optional envelope feeder is installed.
Set the value to correspond with the
envelope size currently loaded in the

Determine how the printer will use
Tray 1.
FIRST: If paper is loaded in Tray 1,
the printer will pull paper from that
tray first.
CASSETTE: A paper size must be
assigned to Tray 1 using the
TRAY 1 SIZE option (the next item
in this menu when TRAY 1
MODE=CASSETTE). This allows Tray 1
to be used as a reserved tray.

Tray 1- load plain letter

On printer check media/paper type tray 2 or 3 is plain and tray 2/3 is set for letter paper size too, via printer control panel. Also check under paper handling other options for tray 1, also on tray 2 and 3, I think there is a blue little round switch on left should be set as letter not custom.

Some paper types cannot be feed from anywhere else but tray1/bypass ie labels/laminate/card stock.

Check print driver on pc has tray 3 option installed and is not set as default to print to manual bypass/tray 1

light flashing cause printer wants paper type/size that it "thinks" it hasn't got in tray 2/3

If that dont cover back
