Of course I do not have the technological knowledge or ability to follow your, in all probability, very good advice. Seeking further local advice seems hopeless but I thank you

First of all if the right side is working the wireless is working alright and the fault is in the processing section, the left audio preamplifier , the left side power amplifier and the left side earpiece.

So you might have to test with a audio signal to confirm from the preamplifier, the low-power amplifier driver for the earpiece and the earpiece.
Once this is confirmed the focus can be the wireless section, possible fault in the receiving section.
The use a a multimeter to check and knowledge of electronic circuits is necessary to check around this section. Please check and respond.

The advice/tip given is with the belief that you are competent. You must attempt to do it yourself only if you are technically/logically able, especially when dealing with delicate devices, damaging while trying to open, Probing electrical/electronic circuits with high voltage or delicate components. Since the advice given by me is with the inputs provided and not based on a visual inspection, there can be further reviews required in some cases.

I am in a similar circumstance, but I have some functionality from the left speaker.
Messing around with them for a while I've found that the left speaker only works above a certain volume level on the headset.
However, this is quite high, so I have to turn the input level down on the ipod/computer etc.
BUT, the headphones require a certain level of an input or else they auto standby, and if I want to listen to a CD at a comfortable level, it will shut off every 10 mins and I'll get a huge amount of static in the headphones.

Any idea what I could do to fix this? Or what sounds broken on the headphones?

It sounds like the left channel has probably failed. Have you tried multiple sources and have the same result? Are you sure these are no longer under warranty?

Let me know and I can help,
Tim

As for $20 dollars from sennheiser for replacements!?!?!?
You should pick up two NIMH batteries for a couple of bucks on ebay or amazon.DO NOT USE ORDINARY BATTERIES!!!!!

  • The wiring has disconnected inside your headphones. They will not work unless you have someone re-wire the headphones for you. This happens after time with most headphones.

How do I charge batteries?

The headphones will automatically charge wirelessly when placed in the cradle that should have come with the package. To make sure the headphones are placed correctly, a red light should illuminate letting you know they are being charged and are properly placed.

On/Off not lit when plugged in

There is help for this in the user manual. Possible solutions I would try:

1. Make sure your source sound (TV, amp etc) is up high enough - if the sound is too low the headphones won't detect a signal.

2. Try changing the channel (the switch on the bottom left of the cradle base) and pressing the "Tune" button on your headphones. Try all three positions, pressing "Tune" at least 3 times in each position.

3. Take out batteries & turn off base, leave for 30 secs, reassamble and try step 2 again.

Should all work ok. I've been using mine for over a year and they're great!
