Several things can cause this. The most common are a bad compressor, burned off wires, and bad capacitors. Turn off the power and check your wires in the control box and at the compressor. Look at your capacitors for signs of bulging. Replacements can be purchased at local ac or electrical supply houses.

AC roof unit stops cooling after rain

No, the units are sealed and the rain should not have affected the system at all. I would remove the outer cover of the unit and access the capacitors. Your start capacitor may be bad. You can visually inspect this and tell if there is a problem. Small black relay on top of capacitor often burns out, if so, replace capacitor and relay. If this looks fine, then we need to start at the thermostat and work our way forward.

Thanks,

Jeff

Outside ac compressor not kicking on when ac turned on

Most of the time the capasitors are bad but it could be that the commpressor is bad or if it is a heatpump the low pressure switch could have it locked out or the contactor could be bad also

You are right the fan is going out. When you change it out be sure to replace the capacitor. This is something you can do it is not easy but no way hard either. If you have any questions when the time comes get back with me and be glad to advise. ken
