Although the menu indicates that the cyan toner is 96% full the printer indicates Cyan Toner not Installed. I cleaned all the contacts I could find. And the menu refuses to replace the toner cartridge with the message Err: Line 2408.
My printer has the same problem but it says that all of the cartridgeds are not there,I tried cleaning and rebooting it, by disconneting and connecting it again but the problem continues. What is the toner chip. Please instruct me on what to do next.

This error comes up when the printer detects that the toner of particular color is missing. This indicated that the indicated color toner is missing from the printer(eg-- C = Cyan, Y = Yellow, M = Magenta, K = Black).
C5150 may face a toner sensor error after installing used sets of toner cartridges and sometimes even after installing new toner cartridges as well. This error can be bypassed. This can be disabled by following these steps---
1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the (+/-), menu buttons at same time. 2. Menu window will show OKI USER. 3. Scroll to Engine Dialog Mode is indicated Push Enter button. 4. Diagnostic Mode xx xx xx S Mode is indicated. 5. ( = 2 ) . Press (- or +) button until “ENGINE - PARAMETER SET =2” is displayed. 6. Push Enter button. 7. TONER SENSOR - ENABLE is displayed. 8. Push Enter button. 9. Press (- / +) TONER SENSOR = DISABLE is displayed. 10. Press ON LINE CANCEL buttons at same time. 11. (*) is displayed. 12. Restart the Printer.
First off, this is a comment from a random person who may or may not know ALOT about these printers and toner/printer design in general. All toners are not designed to the same specification. Toner is a combination of plastic "pigment" and iron like shavings to make it magentically attracted to the electrical charges within the unit. Different toners conform to different grades and mainly size of the particles within the blend. The manufacturer doesnt only recommend that you use their toner to make them money, yes of course it makes money, but its because when the unit is designed it is designed to use a certain grade of toner, trust me if you put the non-branded toner vs the branded toner under a microscope you would see quite a difference. Often the non-branded toner is much larger in particle size (obviousely because its cheaper to make at this spec). This causes a variety of issues from excess toner not being cleaned off of developer rollers, IDT rollers, or clogging of toner dispenser tubes in the unit and the micro filters contained at the toner dispenser assy and developer assys. Also as for the issue not changing when switching to dell branded toner - the dispenser tubes within this unit contain up to 500-1000 pages worth of toner, making no change in toner you make immediately visible. Also depending on the damage caused by the previous toner, it may not be able to be fixed until all the components in between the toner and final delivery (drum cart) are replaced. In this case more than likely the toner dispenser assy, all developer assy's, and drum cartridge need to be replaced, and than be sure to stick with factory branded toner :)
I had the same problem and found that one of the toner cartridges must have not been seated properly. I removed the black toner cartridge and re-fitted it. The printer now works fine again with no errors. 17H is a code relating to a fault in the rotation ......... possibly one or more toner cartridges need checking. Use the menu on the printer to turn it to the appropriate position (i.e. engine menu then select replacement of whichever toner you are checking).
Hope this fixes your as well.
problem might be with toner recycle coil which runs around the back of the belt unit. as the cyan unit is the furthest down the line if any blockages occur it can back up and lift the drum unit up. check the square opening of the recycle unit on the cyan end. Make sure you change waste toner unit when prompted or you might break a gear (big job)
