Toner not installed problem Err: Line 2408

Although the menu indicates that the cyan toner is 96% full the printer indicates Cyan Toner not Installed. I cleaned all the contacts I could find. And the menu refuses to replace the toner cartridge with the message Err: Line 2408.

I found the cause. I exchanged the toner chip with one of an old 1500 pages cartridge and my printer worked again. I use refilled cartridges, and they obviously use the cartridges again and again and again without exchanging the chips. The helpdesk of the shop where I bought the
cartridge sends me a replacement chip for free.

I am having the same problem. It tells me that my Black toner cartridge is not installed, then when I try to change the cartridge, I get Err: Line 2408. How do I fix this and get access to the toner cartridge to replace it, assuming that is the problem, which I do not think it is because I was printing just fine in Black moments before it happened and the levels should be ok I think.

In my printer it shows that all cartridges are not installed, and it just won't print. I tried cleaning it and disconnected and connected again to reboot but the problem continues. What can I do next?

I am having the same issue with this printer. After changing all of the toners it keep telling me that they are not installed. However, the status tells me that all the toners are at 100%. Going to the MENU ENGINE option and then REPLACE TONER options gives me the Err. Line 2408 msg.

I have a similar problem. My eror messages come up with a different cartridg each time I try to print. I have also removed them, but get the same message, but it may come up with a different color. I had replaced the black cartridge a while ago and noticed it leaking onto the paper. I used canned air to blow out all the laser dust, but now have this problem. I previousle submitted a request for help on this problem, but cannot find my message, or any solutions. Please tell me how this website works.??

Toner sensor error

Hi

This error comes up when the printer detects that the toner of particular color is missing. This indicated that the indicated color toner is missing from the printer(eg-- C = Cyan, Y = Yellow, M = Magenta, K = Black).

C5150 may face a toner sensor error after installing used sets of toner cartridges and sometimes even after installing new toner cartridges as well. This error can be bypassed. This can be disabled by following these steps---

1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the (+/-), menu buttons at same time.
2. Menu window will show OKI USER.
3. Scroll to Engine Dialog Mode is indicated Push Enter button.
4. Diagnostic Mode xx xx xx S Mode is indicated.
5. ( = 2 ) . Press (- or +) button until “ENGINE - PARAMETER SET =2” is displayed.
6. Push Enter button.
7. TONER SENSOR - ENABLE is displayed.
8. Push Enter button.
9. Press (- / +) TONER SENSOR = DISABLE is displayed.
10. Press ON LINE CANCEL buttons at same time.
11. (*) is displayed.
12. Restart the Printer.

Aficio CL1000N Printer: On my Ricoh aficio CL1000N it says add toner Cyan....

If I remember right, the CL1000 won't print if any of the 4 colors are out. You have to replace the cyan toner in order to print, even in black and white.

If you haven't tried already, you can try taking the cyan toner out and shaking it up (just a little bit) to try to get the printer to find the little bit of toner left in the bottle.

Install Cyan Toner Error

ensure that the one you install is the exact model name and number, if this is correct, try unistallling once again and check one more time,

you might want to get a new cyan toner if this still fails, i dont think there is a prob in your machine, cheers

Error 2408

2408 means that the toner cartridge you are trying to rotate to is already in the top position or you need to install another toner cartridge before you can rotate to the color you want to replace.

To fix the toner not installed message clean the three contacts on green chip on the right side of the toner cartridge. You may see black lines on them. Use an eraser or rubbing alcohol.

Pages full of toner / toner streaking

First off, this is a comment from a random person who may or may not know ALOT about these printers and toner/printer design in general. All toners are not designed to the same specification. Toner is a combination of plastic "pigment" and iron like shavings to make it magentically attracted to the electrical charges within the unit. Different toners conform to different grades and mainly size of the particles within the blend. The manufacturer doesnt only recommend that you use their toner to make them money, yes of course it makes money, but its because when the unit is designed it is designed to use a certain grade of toner, trust me if you put the non-branded toner vs the branded toner under a microscope you would see quite a difference. Often the non-branded toner is much larger in particle size (obviousely because its cheaper to make at this spec). This causes a variety of issues from excess toner not being cleaned off of developer rollers, IDT rollers, or clogging of toner dispenser tubes in the unit and the micro filters contained at the toner dispenser assy and developer assys. Also as for the issue not changing when switching to dell branded toner - the dispenser tubes within this unit contain up to 500-1000 pages worth of toner, making no change in toner you make immediately visible. Also depending on the damage caused by the previous toner, it may not be able to be fixed until all the components in between the toner and final delivery (drum cart) are replaced. In this case more than likely the toner dispenser assy, all developer assy's, and drum cartridge need to be replaced, and than be sure to stick with factory branded toner :)

Konica minolta error

I had the same problem and found that one of the toner cartridges must have not been seated properly. I removed the black toner cartridge and re-fitted it. The printer now works fine again with no errors. 17H is a code relating to a fault in the rotation ......... possibly one or more toner cartridges need checking. Use the menu on the printer to turn it to the appropriate position (i.e. engine menu then select replacement of whichever toner you are checking).
Hope this fixes your as well.

OKI 9800 with "342" error code

problem might be with toner recycle coil which runs around the back of the belt unit. as the cyan unit is the furthest down the line if any blockages occur it can back up and lift the drum unit up. check the square opening of the recycle unit on the cyan end. Make sure you change waste toner unit when prompted or you might break a gear (big job) Karl Oki engineer
