Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
It would be a connection problem inside of the hinge connecting the screen and the base. Normally it costs you a couple hundred dollars just for the parts to replace that and if you need to have it professional installed I'd guess a total MINIMUM cost (Parts and Labor) of 600-700 dollars. My suggestion is to buy a new laptop but don't forget that most laptops have a VGA output that can be run to a monitor so you can salvage any data before scrapping it.
