Poor picture Hi There, I have a Samsung LE32R74BDX which I purchased in September 2006. The picture has deteriorated recently particularly when it is first switched on, and appeared lifeless and dull, and would always improve within 1 to 3 hours. I had an engineer come out this morning and he identified the following:- 1) The Energy Saving feature was set at high and he turned it to Off. 2) He also adjusted the TV to Dynamic Mode from Standard. Both of these adjustments have improved the picture dramatically, but I have still some concerns which the engineer could not answer. Why is there a Energy saving feature if it cannot be used and must be switched to Off? I have also read that using Dynamic Mode is not good for the TV and can cause screen burn. I would welcome any thoughts and comments. Many thanks Michael

Dynamic mode will give you a brighter picture. The energy saving mode runs the lamp at a more efficient level that saves energy at the cost of a slightly darker picture. Based upon your description, I'd guess that the lamp is nearing the end of its useful life. Plan on changing the lamp soon. When you do so, place the set back to standard mode and energy saving.

* hesitations,
* poor or no start,
* deteriorated fuel economy,
and upon investigation diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P1412, P0490 and P1335 are stored in the powertrain control module (PCM), the probable cause is a sticky exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

To rectify this concern, a new EGR valve with a stronger EGR valve motor and revised PCM calibration should be installed.

5-year old 32 in. Samsung which only displays a fuzzy gray image

It sounds like the T-CON board problem, you can try reseating the connector first, the board is mounted under the metal shield which sometime can be difficult to get to.

The projector is approximately 4 years old & on average runs for about 60 hours per week, 40 weeks of the year. After fitting a new lamp last October & resetting the projector, the image is still...

Additional information is required for us to assist. Can you better describe what you mean by "poor image"? Are the colors separated? Is the picture out of focus? Are the colors wrong?

Please describe the picture or post a picture of the screen if you can.

Thanks,

Samsung Plasma 42" TV - 2006

Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.

Poor resolution

Try to change the screen resolution on your computer right click on the desk top properties then settings tab. If this does not help try adjusting the video options on the tv like contrast and such.

LE32R74BDX

this is because most new lcd tv's have a poor tuner built in and require a stronger ariel, to pull in the analogue or digital signal. Check that your ariel is freeview capable whether using freview or not, as these ariels are better at pulling in the signal, or do what i have had to do and buy a mains plug in signal booster from Asda for about £6.00, this did the trick, especially if you don't want to replace an ariel costing about £30.00
