Question about Motorola Cell Phones

Cell phone battery will not fully charge or stay charged

The phone is a Motorola v235I. The bluetooth default is off. Have had the phone and battery for 11 months. Tried a new battery, same thing happens. It will only charge halfway and one phone call seems to be all it takes to drain it. It will appear to be fully charged, unplug it from the charger and immediately plug it back in and it shows as only being half charged.

Yes I leave it on the charger overnight. I purchased it on June 8 2007 (the phone itself, with the battery) from Verizon with a new plan, and I don't talk hours on it, its gone dead on me during a 15-minute phone call. I think its strange that we purchased two of these phones at the same time, both new on a family plan, and both phones are doing the same exact thing. Was just wondering if these phones were known to have problems like this.

What kind of phoen is it? how long have yo uhad it? how long have you had the batery? check to see if your blutooth is defaulted on, if it is it may be draining the battery quicker than you can get it charged.

well have you tried just leaving it onthe charger over night, i mean its kind of a older phone, they dont make them anymore so the phone has to be older than 11 months. it just may be time to up grade to a gsm phone with 5 to 6 hours talk time this one only has 195 min talk time. Even if its a new battery you put in some phones, most phones just die after a couple years. how logn have you had the phone itself?

It may be just time to upgrade then.

My phone keeps shutting on and off and wont charge when plugged in

Cell phone batteries have what is called a "memory" over time if they are charged without being fully drained they can start to not hold a charge. Unfortunetly the only fix for an issue like yours is to purchase a new battery. Your local retailer / service provider should have batteries in stock or they can order one for you.
It is recommended to allow the batteries to drain completely before charging, then allow at least 8 hours or more to fully charge. Most cell phone will show a full charge after a few hours, but this is more a fault with the software that check the batteries charge, then an actual indication of the battery being fully charged.

Hi i have an experia ant the littli led light on the top stays on red all the time

The little red light means your battery requires charging.

Plug in the charger and allow it to charge.
It should change colour to orange when it has over 15% charge in it and then turns green when it is 90% charged.

If it still stays red dispite being fully charged. Try removing the battery for a few seconds and then replace it again.

I hope this helps.
If your phone is fully charged and it still has a red light, then take it back to the shop you acquired it and get a replacement.
It means you have a hardware fault.

You need your charging port replaced, I could help but I'm in NY. Search Google for someone local to fix the usb port. Common problem....

My motorola krzr only stays on for a few minutes after a full charge.

Yes, you should resort to a new battery, coz the old one is exhausted. Overnight charging is not a good habit. You should charge 2-3 hours until full, and remove the charger

Charged cell phone

do not charge your mobile battery each night for best battery use, you need to charge the phone only when the battery is completely dead.

You should take the phone and have it fully check and service

Phone doesn't hold a charge

MzRendevous, It sounds like you do have a battery issue. Batteries for cell phone don't tend to last long, but if you do purchase a battery, try this to get longer life from the battery. 1. Charge the battery without using the phone until the battery is fully charged. 2. Once fully charged, use the phone like you normally do until the phone shuts itself down because there is no power. 3. Charge the battery again without using the phone until fully charged. 4. Then you can use the phone and charge it anytime you want. You can repeat these steps as much as you want, the more you do it, the more life you'll get from the battery. -- As far as the charger, if you have to adjust it to get it to charge, it could be the cord or the prong on the inside. I'd goto a store and test another charger, if it's available. You can probably get cheap batteries/charges on EBay or anywhere on the internet. Let me know if I was helpful for your questions. John
