Question about Topeak Twister Digital Floor Pump

Open Question

I have a Topeak Twister digital air pump. Worked great for several years but now seems to have a major leak near the top of the airhose or perhaps near the housing for the digital readout display, enough so I cant use it to inflate anything.

SOURCE: I cannot figure out how to attach football

Older model pumps screw in. Newer models get inserted and then you either push the lever down or pull it up to lock onto the threaded end of the needle

SOURCE: pump will not draw air

I think I know your problem: The valve at the bottom of the pump which controls the in-out flow of air can get clogged largely with residue from the gasget as it wears. My suggestion is to take the pump back to the shop where you purchased it as Topeak usually honors its lifetime warantee.

SOURCE: Topeak Pocket Shock pump~ can't

When you place the pump head on the valve make sure you flip the lever, this will seal the pump and air will not come back out. Also make sure your valve is not bent or loose. If your still losing air take the pump and bike into any bike shop and they will be more than happy to show you how to use it, and bonus if there is something wrong with either the tube or pump they will be able to diagnose and provide a solution.

2000 XJ8 no compression in #4 Cylinder but holds pressure, Help?

My best guess is that the piston is near the top of the cylinder but the leak is below the rings right now where it is. Perhaps a crack in the block near the bottom of the cylinder allowing the leak only during part of the piston cycle.

Does not seem to be pumping air

Most likely the O-ring has worn out, but first take it apart by unscrewing the top of the cylinder where the sliding rod goes thru. Then look at the working end of the rod (opposite end from the pump handle), and put some light grease on the O-ring (it is a black rubber ring), reassemble and test it. If it still doesn't push air out, take the O-ring to a hardware store for a replacement. This usually solves the problem.

Leaking from behind?

If the leak is coming from the back of the washer, the problem may be attributed to either a leaking water inlet valve, or the associated internal hoses that run from the valve to the dispenser. The following link explains how to access the inside of the washer and/or replace the valve (if required):

http://www.fixya.com/support/r600647-replacing_water_inlet_valve_kenmore

If the leak is coming from under the front of the washer, the problem may be the drain pump. These pumps can develop cracks and start leaking. they are non-serviceable and will require replacing is defective. The following link explains how: http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump Inspect all internal hoses and hose connections as well. There are two drain hoses on the water pump, and several small hoses near the water inlet valve. These hoses can develop leaks over time. If the leak appears to be coming from the bottom of the wash tub, you may have a leaking tub seal, or cracked wash tub (worst case scenario). You will see tell-tale signs of water marks on the gearcase (transmission) if this were the case. On the lower right hand side of the wash tub is an air dome with a small rubber air hoses attached. Make sure this hose is still attached and has no leaks. The air hose can slip off the nipple it is attached to and water will begin to pour out of the washer when it starts to fill. This will be an "attention-getting" leak as water will gush everywhere. Double check the air hose just in case. If parts are required, you can purchase from any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
appliancepartspros.com
pcappliancerepair.com

All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop all of them for the best deals.

Compressor may be locking up. Run capacitor may be weak or loose wire. Sounds like major voltage drop off as unit head pressure increases.
