Model mx011anm. Where can I get a manual?

Hello!

First of all, this is not a modem, it is a newer cable TV box from Comcast, specifically for the Xfinity X1 platform.

Depending on what you're looking for, fair warning that the following is fairly technical, and can be done if you follow the instructions carefully.

The FCC has information on Comcast's latest X1 boxes, of which the MX011ANM is Motorola's first entry into the new platform. To look up documents submitted for any electronic device, you need the FCC ID from the label, that is somewhere on the device (back or bottom on something like a cable box, inside the battery compartment on many other devices like a cell phone or a remote control). The first 3 characters of the FCC ID is called the, "grantee code," and refers to the original manufacturer. The remaining characters are the, "product code," which identifies the device.

Try finding these on your device, and looking them up on the FCC website.

Or, and this is what I would suggest, is that you call Comcast to see if they have a manual available yet for your device.

Very best,

/metroknowm

How deep do you want to cover it?
1000 square feet covered one inch deep would be about 83.3 cubic feet.
1000 square feet covered one foot deep would be 1000 cubic feet.
1000 square feet covered two feet deep would be 2000 cubic feet.

Changed the lcd screen but all i have is a white screen

1) Loose connection of the Video Cable TO the motherboard, and/or TO the back of the LCD screen.

Can easily happen when reassembling.
(If you can't reuse the sticky tape on the back of the LCD screen, that holds the Video Cable to it, use more tape )

2) Incompatible LCD screen.
MATCH up the manufacturer's numbers on the back of the old LCD screen, to the new one.

They MUST crossover, and match up, if they are two different LCD screen manufacturers.

The screen Inverter is MATCHED to the LCD screen, also.

Matching up the Model Number, (Product Number for HP), may not be all the info you need.
Matching the numbers off of the old screen, for the new one, is.

http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/HP,Mini,1000,Laptop,LCDs-Displays.aspx

Under the red heading - Find Your Spare Parts - click on the blue Down Arrow to the right of the - Choose Model - box.
What Model is yours?

Write down the manufacturer and product ID number.
Now go to the far upper left of the page. In the box under - Part Number Search, type the letter/numbers for your old LCD screen.

On the page that comes up. Do they match?
Putting the letter/numbers in for the LCD screen you just purchased.
Do they match?

IF the old LCD screen works at all, reconnect it, and see if it works.
If so the LCD screen you purchased does not.

3) Make SURE the screen Inverter cables (Wires) are connected tightly.

[ Check the connection of the Video Cable to motherboard first.
Then the Inverters wires, then the Video Cable connection at the back of the LCD screen ]

Primer:
An LCD screen cannot produce light. It needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight can be a CCFL or a series of LED lights

The HP Mini 1000 series of Netbook PC's uses a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp.

Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.

OR a series of LED lights. Depends on the model. (8.9 inch LCD screen models usually use CCFL. 10.1 models usually use LED lights)

A screen Inverter (FL Inverter) is used to convert power from the laptop, for the Backlight, and LCD screen.

Make sure there is 6 Volts DC power going through the Inverter.

[ NOTE*
90 PERCENT OF THE TIME the fault is the Inverter ]

I am trying to connect a cat5 cable to a Systimax DATA connector

The systemax jack you reference should have a sticker showing the proper location to terminate each of the wires. Lay each wire in the matching slot once you have decided wheter to to use the 568A or 568B standard (makes no difference as long as both ends are wired the same. 568B is more common.) If you google "ethernet cabling" you will find dozens of sites with good illustrations to help you.

What is Lucent 7 Cabling?

Lucent 7 cabling *probably* refers to level 7 Lucent cable. It's old!! There are two issues in the question of, "What is Lucent 7 cable?" Here's the history: Lucent was a division spun off by AT&T back in the mid 1990's. Then Lucent actually spun off Avaya and sent their structured cabling business with it (they had named the cabling brand "Systimax" by that time. CommScope bought Avaya back in 2004, so Lucent's Systimax brand of cabling is 2 generations out dated. It's still probably okay, but not worth today's money for new Systimax products made by CommScope.

Now for the 7 issue: there was no talk of category 7 (cat 7) back when Lucent was making cable, but Anixter, a data cable distributor, rates cabling with their own proprietary system called "Levels". Therefore, Level 7 cabling is an Anixter measure and many people have bought from Anixter long enough that they ask for level 7 [brand whatever] cable.

Use it if it's low cost. Otherwise, don't let someone sell Lucent branded-cable as the same as today's cable. There were version upgrades since then. The print on the cable jacket will say 1071C or 2071C or something like that. Today, they are on version E, not C.

Hope it's kind of clear. My guess is the cable is about 10 years old, although some data folks are stuck in their ways and still refer to today's Systimax cable as Lucent cable.
