The calculator don't turn on even that I put new baterries

  • kakima Oct 09, 2010

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and hold the diamond key. Press and hold the + key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible. Does it?

Check the contrast. Someone might have been messing with you and turned it really high, so everything is white. Turn it on, and then push and hold 2nd, then the down button (possibly up... I don't have it with me at the moment, so I can't remember which one.) You should see something now. Tell me how it works out, and hope this helps!

Nikon Coolpix L21 exhausted baterry

Are you using the correct type of battery? Those cheap disposable carbon batteries simply cannot power cameras. you need at least alkalines. even better- lithiums or Ni-MHs.

I put in new batteries into my calculator and the calculator still does not turn on help?

Try the memory battery. The button battery under the cover with a screw. Also try putting the baterries in and spinning them, this will help remove corrosion. Lastly take apart and look for a broken battery terminal, may need solder.

TI-89 won't turn on, even w/ new batteries

Try a hard reset:

Press and hold the 2ND, Left, and Right keys.
Press and release the ON key.

Be aware that this will clear all RAM.

When I put brand new batteries, it says "Change Batteries"

Use a Q-tip with alcohol to clean all the batter contacts (battery cover and inside the battery compartment), and a small hook into the compartment to pull up the contacts a little bit up. The idea is to make the batteries connect properly.
Use NiMh rechargeable batteries or Alkaline batteries, don’t use other Dry batteries, which are not designed for digital camera.
