Suggestion was Descaling the Coffee Maker from KitchenAid Phoebe (I'm guessing customer support)

http://kitchenaidconversations.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14441&SearchTerms=err+2

Cleaning scale from coffee maker DO NOT USE THAT MUCH VINEGAR!Put a tiny bit of vinegar in the carafe and fill carafe the rest of theway with water. Run that vinegar/water through machine. Using anothercontainer, fill machine with plain water and run that through. Repeatuntil the vinegar taste is gone. If you do not run lots of plain waterthrough the machine after, your coffee will tastelike...um...disgusting!

To clean hard water deposits from acoffeemaker use distilled white vinegar. You may need to use as much asa gallon if the scale buildup is really bad. Fill clean coffee potone half full of vinegar and run through machine as if makingcoffee. Repeat this process several times using fresh vinegar until itcomes out clear. Do this once a week and your maker will work muchbetter.

How to reset keurig b40

1. There is some confusion over models. I've seen "B40" models and instructions with only one size cup button, both labeled B40. I own one stamped "B40" on the bottom, and it has two buttons -- small and large. FWIW, small = 8 oz, large = 10 oz.

2. These reset instructions from another site seemed to do something
What to Do If Your Keurig Won Brew Cup Barista

So.. this is what I did that worked for mine: 1) Hold down Auto-Off and LARGE cup at same time. (all lights should hold steady ON) 2) press SMALL cup while still holding Auto-Off and LARGE cup 3) Release all three, press LARGE cup again.. all lights should go off. 4) Unplug for about 5 - 10 second, plug back in. SHOULD WORK!

3. On *_my_* B40, remove the K-cup, close the door, fill the reservoir. Unplug and replug the B40. All lights should be off.

Pressing "Auto Off" and "Large Cup" together will turn on 3 lights (Heating, Add Water, Power) for about 3 seconds. Doesn't matter how long the buttons are pressed or what order they are released.

I tried lots of add-on combinations: e.g. press button x, press x multiple times, press x while lights are still on, press x after lights are off, press buttons x and y together, press x then y, press x and/or y while still holding Auto and Large, release Auto but not Large and press x, etc.

Nothing gave any confirmation that a reset was accepted. All lights always turned off after 3 seconds. Maybe Reset is only 1 step, i.e. Auto+Large together?

I have a DeLonghi Caffe Elite DC78TCG which has stopped working. I push the button and nothing happens, it appears the thermostat is working what else could it be? The unit is getting power.

Had the same problem with mine. I think it was due to mineral build up. I put about 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 2 cups of water into the water chamber and let it sit for about 20 min. I placed a measuring cup where the carafe goes then I repeatedly plugged and unplugged into an outlet. When first plugged in I could hear the internal relay click on then click off a second later, as soon as I heard the second click I unplugged then replugged the power cord. Repeating this started to heat the water vinegar mixture, still no power light at this time. After doing this until the two cups flushed through and then I was able to use the power button to turn on. Ran another couple of water pots through and now I have my coffee maker working again.

Greetings: Problem with auto grind Cusinart DGB600 coffeemaker. Properly prepared coffeemaker to brew coffee but noticed time is replaced by - - - . Suspected it was time to replace cleaning filter, which...

sounds like the coffee maker had a power surge. Try setting the time again.
1. Setting the Clock When the coffeemaker is plugged in, 12:00 will appear until you set the time. Entering "Time Set" Mode: To set the time, hold down either the "Hours" or "Minutes" button until the clock begins flashing (about 2 seconds). You are now in the "Time Set" mode and can operate either button to achieve the desired setting. The buttons can be held down to scroll through the digits, or pressed and released lightly to advance one digit at a time. When scrolling, the numbers will advance slowly at first and then speed up to the rate of about three per second. When the number displayed approaches the desired setting, release the button and press repeatedly to advance one digit at a time. Be careful to make sure that the PM indicator is on if a PM time is desired. Exiting "Time Set" Mode: The "Time Set" mode can be exited in one of two ways: 1. Press any button besides the "Hours" or "Minutes" button. This will exit the "Time Set" and activate the selected function. 2. Do nothing. If neither the "Hours" nor "Minutes" button is pressed for a period of five seconds, the "Time Set" mode will be exited. 2. Setting the Program Ti m e : When you press the "Program Set" button, it displays the current program time (default time 12:00 p.m.). Entering "Set Program Time" Mode: Press and hold the "Program Set" button (about 2 seconds) until the green light and LCD display begin to flash. This signals that you have entered the "Set Program Time" mode. The desired time can be set by pressing the "Hours" and "Minutes" buttons to scroll forward through the digits. Pressing and holding either button will allow you to scroll continuously, slowly at first, and then to accelerate to the rate of about three digits per second. As the desired time setting approaches, release the button and then press repeatedly to advance one digit at a time. The coffeemaker will start to brew at the programmed time. The "Program" mode cannot be entered if the c o ffeemaker is in its "brew" cycle. Exiting "Set Program Time" Mode: "Set Program Time" may be exited in any of three ways: 1. Press the "Program Set" button. This will cause the coffeemaker to revert to its previous state. If it was OFF, it will return to the OFF position. If "Programmed", it will revert to this state, and so on. This is a safety feature. 2. Press any other button (except "Hours" or "Minutes"). "Set Program Time" will be exited and the function of that button will be executed. 3. Do nothing. If neither the "Hours" nor "Minutes" button is pressed for a period of five seconds, the "Set Program Time" mode will be exited and the programmed setting will be in effect.

Coffpot saying err2

An ERR 2 may be cleared by a simple reset of the coffee maker. This means unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. When powered back on, select a brew function to see if the error reappears.

If it does, ERR 2 indicates an internal error with the computer of the warming plate. This may be covered under Kitchenaid's 1 Year Hassle Free Warranty. I would advise you to call Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available to you. Repair is not recommended, as it is not cost effective for the company or the consumer.

Err4

ERR 4 in a Kitchenaid coffee maker indicates a button is stuck in place. Please be sure to check all of your buttons and see if any are stuck depressed into the machine.

If this is not the case, I would suggest contacting Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what other options may be available.

Re: KitchenAid Coffee Pot

I had a similar problem with Err 1, Err2, and Err 4. To resolve Err 1, if you have room, remove the coffee filter and coffee, pour more "warm" not hot water into reservoir. If you have 4 cups cold water add 5 cups warm. Then start coffee maker and let it run thru. Then drain coffee pot and start over to make coffee with tepid water. Err 1 indicates the coffee maker temp sensor is too cold from room temp or water temp.
Err 2 is a result of cleaning. First question "Did you remove the charcoal filter?" The charcoal filter can be removed form the filter stick by prying two tabs away gently and removing the filter for removal. The filters can be purchased @ www.Kitchenaid.com
One pot run thru with descaler can loosen scale and make sensor go "blind". Just run a full pot of clean plain water thru one maybe two times. A pot solution should be a solution of 1/4 pot WHITE vinegar, 3/4 pot clean cool water. Run this thru once, then two clean pots of fresh water as if you brewed a pot of coffee. NEVER USE CLR WITHOUT RUNNING NO LESS THAN THREE CLEAN WATER POTS THRU MAKER!!!! This is so you can continue to enjoy drinking coffee, nothing like a cup cleaning you out!
Err 4 is simple, you have a stuck button. Unplug maker and gently press each button making sure they aren't stuck in.
