Question about Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum
Press the handle release kick-button with your foot, extend the handle all of the way back, and take a look at the gap between the base of the unit and the handle/reseviour assembly. You should see several black hoses attached to the base and running up into the handle assembly. One of them (the dirty water return hose) might be cracked. Turns out that might be a common problem with this model. We had the same problem.
Judging by the interference between the vacuum hose and the "dirty water return" hose, there is NO WAY those two hoses can exist together in that housing without causing the dirty water return hose to stress. It certainly cannot last for many full bends of the handle.
We opted to not repair our unit, but you might be able to do it yourself for the cost of the part and several hours of your time. Otherwise, seek out your certified Hoover repair center for more info.
UPDATE: I McGuyverized it myself with a dremel cutoff tool, some vinyl tubing, some 2-part epoxy, and a lot of faith. It sure isn't pretty, but it sucks again. :)

My dear wife thought our 2 year old steam cleaner was a vacuum cleaner
and used it with no fluid, I used it yesterday, it didn’t seem to clean the
carpet and no water went into the dirty water tank it stayed dry.
Motor sounded ok
Am I in big trouble

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Deluxe Agility. Because your wife used it as a regular vacuum it is my feeling that she has plugged or clogged it up with dirt and the Hoover shampooer just needs to be taken apart and cleaned if the motor sounds right and then re-tested with water and check out the brushes Please, feel free to check with your local vac dealer in your area.
