Why did you disable any drivers? Simply plugging in a USB keyboard would allow it to work. I fear that when you spilled your coffee you did more harm than just a 'sticky' keyboard.

Keyboard dont type

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. Usb mouse stops working vary often, almost every 10 minutes..to fix it I have to disconnect it and put it right back but that's temporary.

It sounds like you have a faulty usb connection inside your laptop, Try putting mouse into another usb jack onto your laptop, or try connecting something else ie camera, phone to the usb you have been using for your mouse. If all is well when connecting another device to same usb, It maybe a fault with the mouse itself and not your laptops usb. Let me know if you connect another device if problem happens the same or if it works. If it works it's a fault with your mouse. Maybe a break in the mouse wire.
Hope this helps, If you need anymore info please just ask away and I'll be happy to try and help and resolve this issue for you.

My daughter spilled coffee on her hp G62-140US Notebook. It starts up fine, but can't get by login due to keyboard not working. Can the keyboard be replaced? If so, what kind of cost?

Yes, about $25.00 labor plus the cost of a new keyboard (about $40). You can use the "On-Screen" virtual keyboard temporarily.

My laptop keyboard just quit working and there has not been anything spilled in it? how can i fix it?

Hi, the keyboard is connected via a ribbon cable to the system board, this connection may got loose, re-seat this connection. but before doing this, try first turning off the laptop, remove the battery and replace it back. turn on. If this does not solve the problem replace the keyboard with a usb type external keyboard.

My usbkeyboard is not working and I can't logon

If this is the first time you have installed this USB keyboard or its recently changed USB ports all you need to do is wait till the machine is at the login prompt remove the keyboard and put it back in and wait. It will install the driver in the background. If after 10 minutes the keyboard is still not working it may be faulty. If this keyboard has changed ports lately and it won't detect try changing to the other ports one by one and restarting. When its plugged into the port is was in before it should start working straight away.

Hi. I spilled coffee on keyboard ACER 9410 laptop. Now a couple of the keys do not work and screen jumps when I hit some keys on right side of keyboard. Can I replace the keyboard to fix the problem and...

I did the same thing. Here's what I did:
Took whole thing apart. Cleaned any coffee with q-tips dipped in water / paper towels. Removed the keyboard. Ran it through the dishwasher with no soap in it and heated dryer off of course.
I let it dry for a day and was bummed that now the whole keyboard stopped working. Well then 4 days later to my surprise / delight.. the whole thing started working again. New keyboards on ebay were also very reasonable. But mine still works perfectly after the dishwasher cleaning.

Spilled juice on Toshiba Laptop keyboard; now keys do not type at all! is there a way to salvage it without having to buy new replacement

Dear v1ndic8d,

Spilling juice on your laptop is not always the end of your laptop. The best you thing you can do is to order a new keyboard. Go to eBay and enter the model of your laptop plus the word "keyboard" and purchase a new one. Make sure you read the description and the language, etc. Replacing the keyboard itself is not that complicated either. You may very well be able to do it yourself. Return to this site when ready and we'll help you replace it.

Good luck.

Another keyboard will not work

laptop keyboards also go. Has anything been spilled on it that you know of ?

Try plugging in a USB keyboard and see if the problem goes away. If so, you need to just get a new keyboard for the laptop.

I alreay had to change mine when I spilled VERY little coffee on it.
