When I play a movie on my laptop it plays on the screen, the moment I plug in the Projection screen and play the movie, it plays on the laptop screen but not on the projection screen.

I have followed the instructions, I have also tried to reconfigure the resolution and screen settings to see if they had any effect! but yet the movie still will not play on the projector on the laptop screen.

If you right hand click on desk top and then go to settings press number 2 and click extend my desktop and apply. It should come up on the projector screen the colour of your desktop but not icons as you are not cloning it. If it does play the dvd which will come up on your lap top and drag and drop off of your lap top far right into projector screen then resize on screen. Hope that helps:) AJ

The projector probably has a user manual, right? Have you followed the steps in connecting pc with projector? You might have missed a setting or something and need to re-check it.

I have a optima projector. When I hook it up to the laptop with windows Vista the image is upside down. When I use the laptop with windows xp everything works fine, The setting on the projector is set...

Hmmmm... You sure should have an option in your Control Panel for that settings. Try exploring your "Screen Resolution" by right clinking on the Desktop, and clicking "Screen Resolution". There'll be options for "Detect" and "Identify". When you connect your Projector, try the "Detect" option and see if a new Display is detected. If there is, click on it and look for "Advanced Settings" and try to find the option for "Invert" or "Mirror" display or something like that.
Or the easier option is to mount your Optima upside down but of course you won't do that as it may be very absurd and funny. (Kidding...

Hello. I am having trouble setting up my projector, i want to play movies from my dell inpirson laptop but everytime i plug in my projector to my laptop it just says no signal with a blue screen backdrop....

Usually, with a Dell, when your laptop is connected to the projector/monitor....you hold down the fn key and press the F8 key and it transfers the signal. Otherwise, look on all the F keys to see if one has a small icon resembling a screen or monitor and press that in combo with the fn key.

I have a problem with displaying power point presentation

Hello, Chris.

I'm not certain if this was already tried, but here goes:

If you look at you keyboard function (F) keys, you'll see a symbol or the words "CRT/LCD". On my laptop, it is F8, but could be different on yours.

When you connect an external screen to your laptop, if the laptop information doesn't show on the external screen, press your Fn key plus that function key with the symbol or words.

Normally, when you press once, twice and three times, you toggle through various options: your laptop screen only, your external screen only and both screens.

Hope this helps.

VGA Problem

This sounds like a driver or software issue. Check Dell's support site for any projector related drivers or software, and also check the projector manufacturer's site for drivers or software. You might also look for any Windows media player updates.

Cannot project movies in powerpoint

I have encountered this same problem once in the office when i was trying to do the same thing.

The solution:
*Assuming you have windows xp*

1) make sure the projector and the laptop are connected (FN+F8), do a right click anywhere in your desktop then go to settings by default Monitor 1 would be your Lattitude D620 and Monitor 2 should be your projector, to make sure of that click on the 'identify' it should show a 1 in your laptop and a 2 on the projector
2) now select monitor 2 and select 'use this device as my primary monitor' check mark, by doing this your videos should play in your monitor but they will be a blank/black screen on the laptop (basically we are reverting the order).

Sincerely
McVerick
