I am trying to add my a940 printer to my HP laptop. Everything was successfully added except the actual printer..please help

Connect the printer to the computer - with the printer still ON; restart the computer and see if it "finds new hardware".

If this helps, please indicate so.

I wanna install de program of my printer dell a940 in my sony laptop

Hi,

I believe when you say you want to install the program on your Sony laptop you mean that you want to set up the software for the printer.

Please find the link below to the software:

http://download.cnet.com/Dell-AIO-Printer-A940/3000-2116_4-75489.html

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PRN_ALL_A940&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

You can download the drivers from any of the 2 links.

Please let me know if this information helps.

I have a Dell A940 connected to my old Dell desktop, which I want to keep. How can I get it to print from my new laptop? I cannot find any USB ports on the printer to connect.

Specs state that it is USB - probably a "USB-B" connector. Anyway, how is it connected to your desktop? Surely you can take the USB lead from the printer out of the back of your desktop and plug it in your laptop? Am I missing something here? Specs don't say it is a "parallel" connector (unless it has both). If it has both (and you are using the parallel connection (big plug with many pins) on your desktop then there should be a USB-B socket on printer next to the big parallel socket.

Problems installing a940 printer driver on new HP with XP

Your almost there.
You need to run the .exe install file in the unzipped English folder. This should install your driver.

Dell a940 printer error 50 c tried without

I had this same problem. I solved it by cleaning the bay where the cartridges go with some 100% Isopropyl Alcohol. Then i just replaced the cartridges with new ones and it worked fine!

Driver for Dell A940 printer for my new Mac lap top

There is no mac driver for the Dell A940. What you could possibly do is, if you have a network, connect the printer to a windows PC, set it up as a print server and then connect to the print server from your mac.
