Hi thanks for the advice. are you fairly sure this is the problem? the conditioner dispenser was not activated either. the machine has just done a half cycle on the daily load setting before showing symbles FH. If the problem is the pressure switch trip then how easy is this to fix? how much is the switch and would I need an expert to fit it or would I be able to under your guidence?
    Many thanks, Richard.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F/H means no water was detected entering machine or pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine the valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. It can also happen if the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. You'll need to press PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the display. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

As I said FH means no water was detected entering machine or pressure switch trip not detected. The first thing will be to check the water inlet valve and try to clean it for clogs, if that is fine then it is the pressure switch which should be replaced. Let me know if you want to do this yourself.

Whirlpool awm 8103/s keeps stopping during cycle with code FH displayed? any suggestions

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Whirlpool's 'FH' stands for 'no water inlet' (but goodness knows how 'FH' could mean that!)

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

Hi I have a Whirlpool 6th Sense Washing Machine - AWM8143. I is washing and spinning perfectly well and there are no error codes. However when it spins the machine makes a grating squeaking noise that is...

hi,
looks like there is some friction between the main and outer tub of your machine. there is generally a mechanism for smooth spinning of the machine in good rpms for wash-spin cycle. this could be because of rust formation, or mud collection. please refer your manual and remove the 3 screws behind the lower front plastic cover, and look for rust formation. scrape the rust and try spinning again.

cheers
