Q902 is Hitachi part number 2390623 (2SK1181) with a retail cost of $31.88. This part is listed as no longer available. It subs to part # 2000261 (upc1871) which is also listed as no longer available. Either of these may be available generically, but not from Hitachi. Try either of the parts listed above using the generic numbers in ().

Yes, the transistor crosses to the NTE2394. I personally don't user NTE cross transistors unless there is no alternative. The original transistors are still available. The 2SK1181 can be found. Use that.

I need a code number for the following part for a hitachi rear projector C50-FC1000. part: horisontal output transistor

The part number is the type number as printed on the transistor - unless of course you have a Hitachi account, ordering spare parts directly.
If it is a 2SD2245 for instance that is it as far as espares or a supplier is concerned.
Hope that helps.

Hitachi 51f510 Color problem

for testing, place the green crt board on the red crt and see if the red crt lights up and the green does not. If the green does not light up then check for 200+ volts on the collector or the output transistor. if you have that kind of voltage thee then check for an open resistor. If not then make sure the transistor is not shorted

The tv doesnt start (on)

It is the shutdown protection circuit detecting that a component has failed, either the Hot (horz output transistor) or the DC Bias circuit has failed . you will need a tech.

I have a hitachi ultravision 60sx11ka

cory, your losing the high voltage, could be bad solder joints in the horizontal circuit, ie; driver transformer, horizontal output transistor, or the transistor and associated capacitors have finally failed. If you keep trying and it will eventually start then it`s definitely bad solder and that`s a cheap fix from any local tech.

Hitachi Projection TV Model 46EX1B

The most common problems I have found in this model is solder joints going out in the vertical and on the driver transformer.

I would say the picture tubes are probably starting to go out by now and the technology is changing.

Look at the new sets. LCD and DLP are using LEDs.

Manufactures are beginning to equip their sets with ATSC tuners that bring in High Def. stations by using a pair of rabbit ears.

In a little over a year most signals must be High Definition and the government is supposed to send out checks for about 40.00 to help fray the costs of converter boxes to convert the older set.

So, my thoughts are, the set is about 17 years old. The cost of repari and the repair itself would be like putting a bandaid on it.

Capacitors by now are beginning to dry out and solder joints are starting to open up, not to mention that the picture tubes are getting weak and changing luminance and fading..

Most sets I repair at this age have future repairs.

  Check out the new technology.

With the set unplugged check the horizontal output transistor, horizontal driver transistor and the horizontal driver transformer, for shorts, cold solder joints. Next if all checks ok, suspect the convergence IC's and related circuitry.
