I don't have your exact model number, but double-check your manual, and make sure you don't have to change your audio settings to reflect headphone output only. If there is no such option, then unplug your TV for 30 seconds, replug, and try again. If that fails, the jack is faulty and needs to be replaced - contact manufacturer if it is worth it.

If your TV has a headphone jack, plug some headphones into it and see if the volume works there. If so, make sure the speakers are correctly connected to the TV and that both the wires and speakers are good. (Try other speakers).

Phillips headphones SHP1900 doesn't work

You should just have to replace the connector that you use to plug into the device...probably an 1/8th inch male stereo plug. You can pick this up at a radio shack. Make sure to plug the headphones into another device first to make sure it is the headphones.

Sound goes out in speakers

Welcome to Fixya!
You should be able to remove the jack, and the speakers will be fine. OR if it is a board mounted jack, you can use an x-acto knife to cut the circuit traces going to it. - either way this will work.

You'll need an Audio Out connection on the tv for surround to work properly. The signal level and the impedence mismatch of a headphones jack would not work or work poorly.
