Unchargeable battery reply

Hello im the one who posted the thread about my h10 and its battery failure. Thank you soo much but sadly i tried your solution and it had no effect. My mp3 just connected as usual, and prompts me to sync. Is there anything else you can think of that may beable to solve my problem. or even anyway that it could be nothing more serious than just a faulty battery? But perhaps im being too hopeful

Ahh, the "sync" message. If your subscription to the music svc from where you got the music files has expired, you will get this message until you both, a: renew your music svc subscription, b: resync the songs to your mp3 player. You will have to both a: maintain your music svc subscription, and b: resync the mp3 player at least once every 30 days.

If you don't want to do this, then you must convert the songs in your player to mp3 format - you cannot convert the songs from the mp3 player itself, so you will have to remove all files from your player first. Use Media Monkey (not guaranteed to work with all music svcs - may give you a "cannot perform operation" error) or another mp3 converter to convert the songs to mp3 format, and your problem is solved permanently.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My iRiver H10 will not power up

Hi Ozzieange.....the most common cause of this symptom for your specific player is that it's set on "hold". Ensure that "hold" isn't selected. If this hasn't resolved your issue, and you are using Microsoft as your OS, let's begin by updating the applicable software for your OS, released on 08-08-07 by clicking on the following URL: http://www.iriver.com/support/down_view.asp?searchProductIdx=61&searchCategoryIdx=3&searchString=&page=1&idx=860&tmpSearchProductIdx=Select+a+Product&tmpSearchCategoryIdx=Select+a+Category&tmpSearchString= Download and install the above software, and finalize the installation process by restarting your computer. Once restarted, let's update the firmware on your Player by clicking on the following URL: http://www.iriver.com/support/down_list.asp?searchProductIdx=61&searchCategoryIdx=1&page=1&idx=&tmpSearchProductIdx=61&tmpSearchCategoryIdx=1&searchString= Click to Download and Install the following Firmware: H10 Firmware Release V2.53 (dated Jul 05, 2006) If applicable, return to the above URL and click to Download and Install the following Firmware: [MTP] Iriver Firmware Updater V2.6.0.0 for MTP devices (dated Jun 22, 2007) Once these tasks are successfully completed, your Player, and the neccessary Software for your computer to properly communicate with your Player are now current and fully functional. Please return to update your post with your progress and/or observations.....good luck my friend

Half of the screen is dark. Tried a new bulb wilth no effect

Sounds like Light Tunnel Failure. Very common. Biggest problem is that a replacement part is almost non-existent and a manufacturer repair is expensive.
You can get further details on the problem at www.avsforum.com. Just search for "4805 Light Tunnel" and you will find threads about DIY repairs.
I also recently posted a DIY Replacement thread for anyone willing to make their own tunnel:

IRIVER WONT WORK AAAAHHH HELP!!!!!? my iriver wont work when i try to turn it on it comes up and says system files missing to restore the system files, connect to iriver plus wat dose that mean i have...

Hello,

When system files are missing on the player, you will need to reinstall the FIRMWARE.

When looking online for the connection type for the H10 / H10JR, I can see 2 CONNECTION TYPES for the H10 / H10JR:
1. MTP, when using Windows Media Player 11 ( WMP11 ), for the H10.
2. iRiver Plus, when using iRiver PLUS, for the H10JR.

The connection type determines what software on the computer will be used for transferring media.
Each software on the computer needs corresponding firmware on the player to be installed.
When the player itself comes up with the information to connect to iRiver PLUS, this is the correct software for this device probably. Then the device is a H10JR.

When not having the program iRiver PLUS, go to the iRiver support site, for the download:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/index.asp?code=0302
In the left column click Plus3 and go for the download.
Run iriver plus 3 and then select [Tools > Portable Device > Firmware Upgrade] from the menu.

Need more help ? Just post a comment.
In case you have the other model player, the H10, let me know if you need assistance for its recovery.

Corrupt firmware

Hello,

For recovery tools for the H10 go to next site:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/index.asp?code=0302

Next enter the word recovery in the second column next to GO.

Now the recovery tool should show up in the right side of the page.
Click the download [MTP]H10 5G/5G Pure/6G Firmware Upgrader/Recovery Tool(US & EU only) for more information.

See the recovery tool iRiverFirmwareUpdater.zip.
Follow up the instructions for the recovery.

Sony UVW-1800 Error Code

I just found this post on another site :
tsvservice- 29th Jun 2007 14:0109-221 is "failure to complete threading within the specified time". in plain talk, the mechanism in the deck that threads the tape around the heads is not working. this could be a bad motor, bad gear, or even a bad tape.

I would not mess with the hardware fix, but instead try this "soft" fix:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
