When playing DVDs there is poor synchronisation between picture and sound

Thanks so much. Unfortunately I don't have any video cd's to test your theory. However, I've been unable to get the digital sound working, so we currently have digital picture but analogue sound. Do you think this could account for the problem?

Yes , if you connect the tv thru different type of connectors there will be a delay - the signal has a different pathway in digital and analogue ways inside the player.
You must aways use both AV ways the same so o must use the Composite or Component connections for the video to get the signal in sync.

The time delay that is experienced is due to the improper syncronisation of the processing circuits.
The time taken by the audio and video processing is differing by a margin before it is made to sync, which makes the vision move faster or the slower than the sound.
Now it is possible that the video is delayed due to signals delaying in the RF processing from the optical head, then the digital/analogue conversion stages . Audio signals can also be delayed in the same manner .
The fault can be in the main processor if the delay happens equally in DVD and video cd's.
Test with video /audio output signals to Inputs, test with digital cable inputs or HDMI ( if present).
If the fault is uniform, then the main board must be swapped to confirm.
Please check and respond.

No sound from pre-recorded dvds in tv/dvd combo

Check the sound setup to TV. Refer its user manual for details. Check whether the audio format to the recorded disc do match with to that of TVs.

Good sound but scrolling picture with diagonal lines. Zero quality.

Check the vertical synchronisation section. Either the set lose vertical synchronisation signals, or the vertical oscillator is oscillating out of frequency. The work is a skilled one, and you must have through knoledge in electronics to follow.

Unable to get play dvd or get picture on DVD channell on tv

If the player is doing that for all DVDs but playing CDs properly, the player has gone bad due to either the laser and lens being out of whack or the DVD drive just doesn't recognise DVDs anymore and needs repaired or replaced.

Sorry. Best of luck.

No picture, only sounds when playing DVD

Hi,

The issue might be that you could be missing some codes to play the dvds.

First i want to uninstall all the codecs from the control panel - add/remove programs.

Then download the latest vesion of klite codec pack with the player.

The link is :

http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/filepilot/windows/multimedia/video/k-lite_codec_pack/klcodec390f.exe

Install this by selecting "lots of stuff" with the player.

Then play your DVD, it will work fine.

Good Luck.

DVD playback no playback

Sounds like the scart lead is not in straight. Scart connectors have the audio pins at one end, and the video pins at the other. If the lead isn't in straight then you often get sound and no picture and vice versa.

Check the connection by pushing the scart lead in securely. (Both DVD and TV end of the lead)

Failing that could be a dodgy lead.
