I acquired a Compaq KVM switch, but have no idea how to operate it. There is no obvious way to select the desired computer to control. How is that done?

That seems to be just what I need. Thank you.
A side question. Whenever I tried to get to the link with FireFox running under linux it hung up, but with FireFox running on Windows XP I was able to connect and download the manual. Why would that be?
Thanks again.
Richard

The Compaq 4110 KVM switch was actually manufactured by Apex which is now part of Avocent. Your switch is Compaq's rebranding of the Apex/Outlook EL-80DT from Avocent.
The key to display the KVM switch menu should be PrintScreen. Here is a link to the user manual:
ftp://ftp.avocent.com/public/product-upgrades/Outlook/EL40-80DT/OL_DT_UG.pdf
Your answer seems to be on page 34.

This is a good question, but unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. You may ask this question in another post on FixYa. Maybe a Firefox expert would be able to help.
