Ive had the iriver H10 20gb edition for the past 6 months. and I really like it. Prior to this Ive had very few and very minor problems with it, (As in nothing simply resetting it, reinstalling the firmwear, or re-syncing it didnt fix) But recently it hasent been able to hold a charge, The battery registers and displays as if it if Fully charged and then, very quickly drops form fully charged to no battery life at all. The "death" process takes less that 30 mins. Where as it would normally take several hours and at times even a few days depending on the ammount of use. And the problem happened Instantly rather than progressing or worstening over time, And to my knowlage there was nothing to bring about a malfunction ( such as external damage or anything like that)

Re: battery wont charge correctly
Probably a hardware issue that requires replacment, but: Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

batteries will self discharge over a period of time especially in cold weather
however 3 batteries replaced in 6 months raises issues
first question is why would they not charge up on a charger or a run in the vehicle
second question is the battery of sufficient size to run the electronics
have you had the alternator bench tested to check for correct out put, regulator operation and rectifier problems
check drive belt condition and tension
the wire could be a ground wire but I would think that if it is significant then something would not be working correctly
ive been getting more of these electric mowers here for me to fix in the past few months now , ive gotta do a video on u tube on how to care 4 them , but enough of my rant , on to your question , ive seen this happen a few times folks don't order a spare battery right from the start with these things and buy one like a year or more later , what happens is over time of charge/use/charge old battery's heat up some , plastic holders become distorted a bit and when a new battery is installed it don't fit "just right" and hence the contacts are not making up right , what ive had to do is a bit unconventional but take battery out and use a hair dryer to soften up plastic in spots that hit new battery and bend them softly away . makes new battery fit correctly and contacts make up right , I think the fix for this is not to charge battery inside mower but take it out ,but on some that's not allways an option . ohh and allways ck safety switches there the same as a real gas mower
Has the battery been fully discharged (used until it will not power up the item) very many times? This is very bad for Li/Po batteries. If the phone is less than 6-12 months old, I would contact my cell provider and ask for a replacement battery. In lieu of your provider replacing it, your only option will likely be to replace it yourself. Unlike the old-school Ni/Cad rechargeable batteries, Li/Po batteries lose their ability to hold a charge if they are drained fully too many times. Also a good tip with a new battery is to charge it longer than just until the battery power indicator is full (overnight is a good basic rule, but check your phone's user guide or google the specific battery model for recommended charge times) for the first few charges, and avoid letting it fully discharge. Try to get it on a charger with at least 1 or 2 bars left. This will increase the life of a cell phone battery dramatically.
you can change battery and/or upgrade hard drive (if changing hard drive, save the software to pc then copy to new hard drive)
