Hello Dear,

Seems there are some files needs to be updated. Make sure you have admin rights when you are doing this windows update.
1. Click the "Start" Button, click "All programs", and click "Accessories".
2. Right-click "Command Prompt", and click "Run as administrator". If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Please enter the following command, and press enter.

REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL

You will get a "DllRegisterServer in wuaueng.dll succeeded" window.

4. Then, please move on to enter the following commands one by one. A success notification will be received after each command.

REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL
REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
REGSVR32 WUCLTUX.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL
REGSVR32 WUWEBV.DLL
Now try to run windows update.

With regards

    One more suggestions!
Go to C:\windows\Software distribution folder. Rename this SOftware distribution folder and restart your machine once.
Now try to run windows update.

Not updating

These are a few different things that could be causing this issue, it is normally caused by a failed windows validation
First try to go here: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/faq.aspx?displaylang=en&sGuid=19dc02ac-6b2d-4fce-a2b2-00ed7160f812 and try to validate your windows. Then try the updates again, if this doesn’t fix your problem try the next steps below.
Try repairing your windows update agent here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946928

Try following the steps found in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900936
it’s for a different error code but has been known to fix some of the issues that you are running into.

Let us know if you’re still experiencing this problem after these steps.
