Question about Electrolux Washing Machines

Open Question

EWT 1132 top loading washing machine bought in 2006 in Finland When machine is filled and plugged in ready to be started, I need to hold down the "start" button for 10 seconds before it appears to "understand" that I want it to work. Is this a sign that it needs to be looked at/serviced? Thanks! Cory in Finland

SOURCE: indesit w93 washing machine fills with water but doesn't start washing

Hi there. I have an old model, the indesit WM12. Never counted the flashing light (yours was 10) but my dial started clicking constantly at the drain part. I called Idesit and they told me it was a blockage in the filter.
The filter they speak of it located, on mine, at the front of the machine at the very bottom on the right. It is a black dial about 3 - 4 inches in diameter. Unscrew that anti-clockwise (a real pain because so much water comes out. My wife and I unscrewed it, filled a baking tray with water, screwed it back up, emptied / substituted tray then same all over again - until empty. Though putting it on drain again and again helped at same time). When I pulled out the filter found a 'colour catcher' sheet in it. We used them first time ever the other day. Removed that, gave filter a wee clean and, hey presto, all is working again. Hope that helps. Jim

SOURCE: Washing machine keep filling in water non-stop

There is a mixing valve that is normally where you attach the feed hoses.
In US domestic machines, this is an inexpensive ('cause it's a piece of marginal junk) that can be had from nearly any appliance shop and is generally easy to replace once the back panel is removed.
I'm not familiar with your LG machine so the statement above may be useless.

Hi Cong Tran.
To buy parts for your machine you should go the the manufacturers distributor with the full model number. (The shop where you bought the machine may be able to help you with that information) The parts shop can easily tell you cost and availability of the part.
Good Luck

We just bought the washer and now it will stay on for 5 mins then all buttons blink and it says LF

LF stands for long fill,if it takes longer than a preset time by the machine it will go to LF,check water fill hoses for kinks, plugging that will slow down water fill time

My Neptune Top Load fills the water, the motor doesn't start.

If i understand correctly you are stating the breaker shut down which means the house breaker for the outlet power kicked out. You might try plugging something else into the outlet to see if it also kicks out, say a vacuum cleaner of a drill.

You need a amp clamp to test for something shorted or grounded (or ohm out windings) which requires trained service........you do not want to get a shock

  2. Remove Power: Follow the onscreen instructions to remove power (unplug unit) and then immediately plug unit back in.

  3. Clear Setup Mode: After power is restored, a setup screen that begins with "Congratulations..." will be shown. DO NOT PRESS the OK button shown at the bottom of the screen. Stops drains and bleeps with only spin light illuminated

It sounds like you need to re programme the
machine.
With the machine plugged into the wall and
turned on and the headset turned off this is what
you do.
Push and hold down the start button, while doing that you need to then push and hold down the power button.
Hold them down for about 5 seconds, during
which time you may a series of up to 3 beeps.
Then release the buttons.
Turn the machine off and then on again followed by the start button. Allow the machine to then run the complete cycle.
This should correct your problem, if this doesn't then you may need to then look at replacing the computer panels.

Washer will not fill

Check your inlet hose from the wall socket, it could be clogged with something. Look also at the machine hose. First turn off the wall hose, and keep a bucket ready.
