You need to send the sound that you recorded and saved in your phone to yourself in a PIX (picture) message. No Subjects, Text or Pictures are necessary to have in this message, as only the sound itself is required. Once the message arrives on your phone, choose "Options", then "Save As Ringtone". Once you have saved it in that manner, go to "Get PIX and FLIX", then "My Ringtones". It will be stored as a fully usable ringtone there.
To take sound files you have downloaded you have to move them to the phone memory instead of the memory stick. Also you have to send the sound to a MMS msg to yourself and then save it. It is very stupid and annoying that the manufacturer Motorola did it this way, they really shouldnt be taking the ringtone companies best interests over the end users.
You can txt yourself the sound and when you receive the txt you save it as a ringtone. If you have a computer with bluetooth capability you can send ringtones that you can make yourself through bluetooth. I use create-a-ringtones.com, make my own and transfer them to my phone. If anyone else wants the ringtone I just txt it to them. I just did about 18 ringtones for my husband and he has the motorola adventure v750.
You can the best thing to Try is to picture message your email with them attached as a sound. When you get your new phone or whatever you are trying to do email them back to firstname.lastname@example.org and just save the sound file as a ringtone....they go ONLY to your phone not your Mem. Verizons way of saying F YOU Buy our sh!t.. :)
