I called 1-800 SAMSUNG and they had a firmware update that fixed the problem. I don't know if the update is available on their website, as I had downloaded a firmware update 2 days previous and this was a newer version that they sent me via email.

The USB ports are designed for MSC class devices, such as thumbdrives. If your device requires more power, or if the device is powered and puts up too much power, you may be prompted with an overload message. Since it's an error, there's not a way to disable the message. It will pop up when the device isn't compatible with the TV

What will happen if I just continue to ignore the usb/ power overload message on my tv...seeing No idea how to fix it

Samsung TV - USB Device Not Found - Power Overload error message

I'm posting this since there's very little information available that explains how to resolve the following error message that you might receive on your Samsung TV. For many months, I have been receiving an error message pop up on the bottom left corner of my screen. The error message would say "USB Device Not Found. USB1 (or USB2) Power Overload." This message popped up without me ever doing anything with either USB port. In fact, I've never even used the USB ports on my Samsung TV. The message would appear at random and stay on for a few seconds or minutes. It's more annoying than anything.

To resolve this issue, I went to Samsung's website and navigated to their support section for my particular Samsung TV model. From there, you can download the latest firmware update for your TV and copy it to a USB flash drive. Once the firmware update is on your flash drive, you'll need to extract the files since they're zipped. At that point, you'll plug the flash drive into your TV's USB port. Go to your TV's menu and navigate to the section where you can update your firmware. On my specific Samsung, I went to my TV's Menu >> Support >> Software Upgrade >> By USB. This will start the update process and your TV will reboot once complete.

So far, my TV has operated great after the firmware update. I've not received the USB Device Not Found, USB1 or USB2 Power Overload error. Hopefully this will resolve the issue for me permanently. I'll update this post if the error message reappears.

How to fix error messages samsung tv?

I think you have two errors:
1. New service not found
2. usb power overload.

#2 means that whatever you have plugged in is taking too much power for the tv to run it. Unplug it, and see if things work better.

New device not found usb1 power overload

Dear inVaUSA, I followed your action and contacted 1-800-SAMSUNG but did not fare as well as you did. I was told there is not a firmware update nor a patch to fix the "New Device Not Found USB1 Power Overload" even after I read your post to the support representative I was dealing with. She told me that it is a PlayStation issue even though I have never connected any USB device to any USB Port on my Samsung TV. Could I Please trouble you to send me the firmware update you received from Samsung `in a private message or to my email address if you prefer. Thank you!

I got a 55 inch LG television and the lower half of the screen is all black!! What is wrong?

Try to reset tv by unplugging device and holding down the power button for 60 seconds. If you have a manual look up reset instructions. Unplugging device for one hour is recommended for some TV's.

The "new device found" screen keeps popping up

Inspect for damaged pin on INPUT 1 socket. (left most of the three HDMI connectors)
A quick pull on the cable can damage the pins.
=== If you see mis-aligned pins then please power off the set before making corrective action. ===
============== Here's a textbook instruction from Mitsubishi
If the New Device Found Screen Displays No HDMI Control Option If the New Device Found screen shows no option for HDMI Control, one of these conditions applies: • HDMI Control is turned off in the menus of the new device Action: a. Highlight EXIT and press ENTER to close the New Device Found screen. b. Display the device's setup menus and enable the device's CEC capabilities. c. Wait for the TV's New Device Found screen to appear again. d. If the New Device Found screen does not appear, power off the device. Power on the device and wait for the New Device Found screen to display with the HDMI Control option.
Next time you see the NEW DEVICE FOUND screen pop up.
Toggle the CEC field (on the right side of the pop up) to OFF.

Getting a black screen and no device found. what

First unplug everything from your AC/outlets.Then systematically check every plug going to and from your screen by pulling them out one by one and reattaching them. POWER cord / VGA cord .The VGA cord looks like a D and has 15 pins it goes in easy no force is necessary, thumb tight the screws on each side. Now power cord make sure it's tight, in the socket. Then plug your AC plugs back into the wall. If that doesn't solve your problem either your screen has gone bad or your video card. Good luck!

It sounds like your Windows XP might be missing the USB2 drivers. Try going here http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/ and download the driver needed and see if that fixes your issue.
