Question about Toshiba 37HL66 37 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

Toshiba Regza 37HL66: after its been turned on for a while(could be 30 minutes or could be over an hour), it begins to turn off and on, off and on either repeatedly or randomly. Bought it new in 2007 and not heavily used so it should be in excellent condition but this began happening recently. Stable placement: has not been dropped, moved or in any way shaken.

Hello Sandwalk. You have a weak solder joint or a weak connection inside of the tv. Your best bet is to call a few tv repair shops and inquire as to what each would charge you to locate and repair a short. They all have diagnostic tools which make this work fast and efficient. Joe

My Toshiba Regza can run for about an hour before the sound goes on it..it gets very loud and all it does is make distorted loud noises.

Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis.
